FIRST WEEK
●'I'●'I'●'I'●'I'●'I'●'I'●
VICTORIA WAS LIVING IN THIS HOUSE FOR A WEEK NOW and it was the worst time of her life. Was she being dramatic? Maybe. But it was exhausting to pretend to be a happy couple in front of the staff, faking smiles and sweet words. All Lorenzo and Victoria wanted to do was argue or not speak at all. And they could only do that when all the employees went home for the night. There was argument after argument, "I hate you" after "I hate you" or one silent treatment after another because everything about each other, even the smallest things, was annoying to each one of them. And it was getting harder to swallow all those things and act happy and in love for the big part of the day.
"This is hell, Gabriella. I'm in the actual hell," Victoria said, looking at her sister's face on her phone screen while sitting in the bedroom's closet.
It was one of the quietest places in this house and a perfect hiding spot. Also, it was the safest place to talk freely without being heard by the maids or other employees. After her first day here, Victoria told the maids not to disturb her when she was in the bedroom, meaning they couldn't go into the room. So, she spent most of her time here and she was happy that this walk-in closet had doors and some space. She was behind two closed doors and safe from the maids' ears.
"It can't be that bad," Gabriella murmured, munching on her cookie. Victoria could have driven to visit her sister instead of video chatting with her, but Alessandro didn't have time yet to bring her car over here and she wasn't planning to ask Lorenzo for a ride to get her car or visit her sister.
"Mhm, right...I'm going crazy in here!" Victoria shouted, but not too loud to get the attention of the maids, in case they were hovering nearby the bedroom. "My car isn't here yet, my friends are busy, I've rearranged my closet ten times already and I have to live with a person I hate."
"Tori, sometimes I think you pretend to hate him when, in fact, you don't," Gabriella teased her sister, wiggling her eyebrows and then winking at Victoria.
"Ew, no. I hate him. I hate being stuck in this situation. I'm thinking about faking my own death and running away."
"I won't help you with that," Gabriella replied to Victoria, her mouth once again full of cookie. Victoria gasped dramatically, acting a bit and making Gabriella laugh. Then the younger girl let out a sigh and leaned her head against the wall.
