VICTORIA WAS PACING ANXIOUSLY AROUND THE SMALL ROOM, making last-minute decisions, her dress train trailing along the floor. Harper's eyes followed her every move from the small brown couch, debating whether to offer Victoria another shot of tequila. The Russo girl had already had two shots, but they didn't calm her nerves. Sophia shook her head, sighed and grasped Victoria's train, holding it as the bride continued to pace. Meanwhile, the other girls were putting the final touches on their hair and makeup, occasionally telling Victoria to calm down and sit, but she didn't listen to them.
"The ceremony starts in ten minutes," Gabriella announced as she entered the room. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at her sister. "You look beautiful, honey."
"There's still time to run away, right?" Victoria asked, casting a brief glance at her sister and ignoring her compliment. "I'll be out of the city before everyone starts to look for me."
"Tori, stop," Gabriella stopped her sister's pacing by placing her hands on her shoulders and looked into her eyes. "Take a deep breath, honey," the older Russo advised and both girls inhaled deeply and exhaled. "I know you two can't stand each other, but look on the bright side. He's not a complete stranger."
Victoria knew that Gabriella was right. In a different scenario where the Russo and DeLuca families weren't close or not the two most powerful families, Victoria would have found herself marrying a complete stranger, someone she had never met before. Now, she didn't know every single detail about Lorenzo, but at least he wasn't a stranger to her.
"It's time," Alessandro said to the girls in the room when he knocked on the door and walked in. Victoria took a deep, shaky breath and grabbed the boutique that Harper handed her. "You look amazing, Tori".
"Thanks," Victoria murmured and smiled a bit, brushing a hand through her dress skirt.
She glanced in the mirror for the last time to check her appearance before going down the aisle. Her wedding gown was a stunning blend of traditional elegance and striking uniqueness. An off-the-shoulder neckline gracefully accentuated the collarbone and shoulders with a touch of intricate lace detailing. The bodice was fitted to Victoria's figure before cascading into a voluminous ball gown skirt. But what she liked about this dress and what set this gown apart was the exquisite emerald green chapel train that extended from the back of the dress. The train contrasted beautifully with the white lace, creating an eye-catching effect. She fell in love with this dress the moment she saw it in the bridal shop and now she's going to walk down the aisle wearing it.
