Toji sat on the couch, his mind racing with thoughts of you. He couldn't understand why he was feeling this way. He ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident on his face. "What the hell is wrong with me?" he muttered to himself. He tried to distract himself with the TV, but his mind kept wandering back to you.
He found himself imagining what you were doing, who you were with, what you were talking about. Toji stood up, pacing back and forth in the living room. He needed to get out, to clear his head. He grabbed his keys and headed for the door, pausing only to glance at your empty bedroom.
"Damn it." he muttered, shaking his head. "I'll be back later."
Toji gripped the steering wheel tightly as he drove, his knuckles turning white. He couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in the pit of his stomach. He tried to tell himself it was just because he was worried about you, but he knew that wasn't the whole truth.
He sped through the streets, his mind racing just as fast. "This is ridiculous." he muttered to himself. "It's not like she's my girlfriend. That woman can do whatever she wants."
But even as he said the words, he knew they weren't true. He didn't want you to be with anyone else. The thought of another man touching you, made him see red.
He slammed his hand against the steering wheel, cursing under his breath. "Damn it, Toji. What's going on with you? This isn't like you."
He tried to push the thoughts away, to convince himself that he was just overreacting. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't shake the feeling of jealousy that was consuming him.
He pulled up to a red light, resting his forehead against the steering wheel. "I'm not jealous." he whispered to himself. "I'm not. It can't be."
But even as he said the words, he knew he was lying to himself. And that scared him more than anything.

[Meanwhile]
You took a deep breath, steadying yourself before stepping out of the cab. Suguru was waiting for you outside the hotel, a warm smile on his face. You couldn't help but smile back, feeling a flutter of excitement in your stomach.
"Hey." you said, approaching him.
Suguru's eyes lit up as he looked at you. "Wow, you look stunning!" he said, his voice filled with admiration.
You blushed, gazing back at him. "Thank you, Suguru. You look great too."
He offered you his arm. "Shall we?"
You smiled up at him, looping your arm through his. "Lead the way."
As you walked into the restaurant, heads turned to look at you. The dim lighting, the soft music, and the clinking of glasses created a romantic atmosphere. The server greeted you both warmly, leading you to your table by the window, which overlooked the city lights.
You couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. "This place is amazing, Suguru."
He grinned, pulling out your chair for you. "Only the best for you, Y/N."
The dinner was indeed amazing. The food was delicious, the wine was excellent, and the conversation flowed effortlessly. You talked about your cases, your dreams, your fears, and even laughed about the silly things that happened after your break up. Suguru listened intently, his eyes never leaving yours, making you feel seen and understood.
"You know, I've missed this." Suguru said, reaching across the table to hold your hand. "I missed you, Y/N."
"I never stopped caring about you, Y/N." he confessed, his voice soft. "Even after everything that happened, you've always been on my mind."
