Jamie Duffy - Solas (Goodnight)
Lia- age 2
That little troublemaker found my dagger yesterday. She was so enthralled by it. When her eyes found their mark on the sparkling blue gem on it she got lost in it.
I had the same reaction when I first saw it hidden under my mother's bed.
My star couldn't even focus on me talking to her point forward.
At that moment I envisioned the day I would teach her how to throw that dagger. How to hold it and how to let it be an extension of herself.
She had a cute sparkle in her eyes. A fire I saw in myself portrayed in a two-year-old.
I thought the line of indigos would end with me. I never wanted to bring a life to this world. I was a monster. Even though my actions were for a good cause, killing would always take a toll on the soul. Taking a life would dampen it little by little. Blood was my friend.
I didn't regret my decision to take my little star. I would never regret that.
What I regretted was not taking my time in killing the caretakers of the orphanage she was in. Those child abusers could never dampen my soul.
The scar on her chest was concerning. I had my doctor check her on a monthly basis just to be sure. He repeatedly informed me since there were no signs of pain she didn't need medication. Her heart was strong.
Maybe when she grows older she might face a few difficulties but that couldn't be determined yet. Only time would tell.
The point was she was happy.
I was putting another entry in Hummingbird. My latest mission.
A woman Kaitlin was on my hit list. By order of her abusive husband who now lay in my crocodile pit in my basement. Whatever was left of him at least.
My precious and slightly vicious babies were starving. Fluffy and Frou-Frou were two menaces. a good way to dispose of bodies. And Kieran's nightmare.
Fluffy and Frou-Frou were two saltwater crocodiles. Both females. The latter one was an albino and the former a fully black one.
