"Hi, welcome in!" (Y/N) greeted with a smile towards Cage and the group he was with, trying hard to keep her expression light despite the fact that they blatantly ignored her and merely crammed in front of the window to see which flavors they wanted.

She exhaled softly.

Damn.

This place isn't that close to school...

I was really hoping that I wouldn't have to run into anybody from there.

Oh, well.

I don't think they even know me, so it should be fine... maybe.

"Are you sure it's fine eating this kind of ice cream?" One of the girls giggled in that high pitched and annoying way that made (Y/N) want to roll her eyes. "I mean, I can get my butler to fly in some of Cellato's finest Byakuya all the way from Japan! Wouldn't that be much better than this?"

(Y/N) eye twitched.

Bruh.

If you can get six thousand dollars worth of ice cream, then just do that and not come here and force me to listen to you.

Why is ice cream even that expensive?

"I thought it would be nice to experience some common things," Cage shrugged with another dazzling smile, his dark eyes flicking upwards to meet (Y/N)'s.

She flinched.

Is he... insinuating something?

Shaking off the thought, she waited as they all decided what they wanted. Glancing down at her tacky, black-and-pink striped uniform and white apron, she knew she wasn't the most classy of people, but she certainly wouldn't describe herself as 'common.' But as she tapped her finger against the countertop, she knew that that was exactly what she was to these people. The school that they all attended was a wealthy, private establishment that catered to the best of the best.

She only got in on scholarship.

"Hello... (Y/N)," Cage finally greeted as he leaned against the counter, his gaze having dropped to her name tag before meeting her eyes again. "Sorry about all the noise, but we're ready to order."

"What do you want?" She quickly brushed aside his apology, itching to move along with the order so they would leave faster.

Cage's brows raised.

Now that was an unexpected reaction.

He was used to people falling at his feet due to his wealth and power, but he also had his fair share of people who didn't. He didn't mind nor care for such people like that, and this notion certainly applied to (Y/N)—it was just a refreshing experience sometimes that gave him a little bit of a kick. But then he'd move on just as quickly.

Placing his order, he watched with a bored expression as (Y/N) worked.

She wasn't necessarily striking to him, but she did have her charms, he could admit that. What he found interesting though, was just how uncomfortable his and his friends' presence made her—but then again, she also looked like she couldn't care any less, so he couldn't say for sure. And when she rounded up the total, he pulled out his black credit card and handed it to her, smiling.

She didn't so much as blink at it.

"Thanks, (Y/N)," Cage waved goodbye to her as he and his friends left. "See you around~"

And just like that, he was gone.

(Y/N) was still ready to go back home.

The next morning, and then the next after that, the girl gratefully slept in considering it was the weekend. But all too quickly was it over and she had to get up early to drive to school. Shutting her annoying alarm off, she climbed out of bed and washed her face and brushed her teeth before getting dressed. Descending the stairs, she sighed upon noticing that her mother was already gone to work. Throwing a piece of bread into the toaster, she then spread butter on it and called it breakfast. Shrugging her jacket on, along with her backpack, she then walked out the door towards her car.

She rubbed her eyes.

Ugh.

So tired.

Driving the few minutes to the large and intricate school building that she thought was a little excessive considering it was just high school, she pulled in to the almost empty student parking lot. Many students could drive, but most didn't since they had people to do that for them, dropping them off in limos like it was prom night. Those that did only drove the most expensive cars—Lamborghinis, Porsches, etc.

It kinda pissed (Y/N) off, to be honest.

Shoving her hands into her jacket's pocket, she let out another yawn as she entered the school and wandered the halls towards her next class. Muttering out an apology when she accidentally bumped into another student, missing the glare he threw her way, she continued to walk only to be harshly spun around and slammed into the wall.

She blinked as the air flew from her lungs.

Coughing, trying to catch her breath, (Y/N) glanced up at her attacker.

He was handsome with chiseled features, dark skin, and buzzed hair. He had a sports jacket draped over his hulking frame that indicated he was quite active, but it also made it seem that he didn't look to be the type to suddenly approach someone he had never spoken to before—hence (Y/N)'s confusion and irritation.

"What's your name?" He questioned.

"Uh... (Y/N)?"

"Listen, (Y/N)," he spoke, elongating her name in a rather mocking manner that made her raise a brow. "Normally, I wouldn't care if someone bumped into me, but you kind of piss me off."

She blinked up at him slowly.

Bro, I literally did nothing to you.

"Uh... sorry for bumping into you and pissing you off?" (Y/N) spoke, starting to get antsy when noticing that the boy and his loud declarations were drawing too much attention—unwanted attention that she really wanted to avoid. "Anyways... I'm gonna go to class, so bye."

She turned to leave but was only slammed back into the wall.

She grunted in pain.

He really needs to stop doing that or I'm going to put my foot up his ass.

Before (Y/N) could do anything though, a hand fell onto the boy's shoulder. Cage stood behind them, smirking, his dark eyes glimmering with unrestrained amusement.
