   Cage was frantic.

    And that never happened.

He had only been gone for a moment, and when he returned to the table that had become his and (Y/N)'s safe haven during lunch, he found her gone. At first, he assumed she had gone to get something or to use the restroom, but as the minutes ticked on, his erratic worry only grew. Practically tearing through the school to find her, knowing she wasn't in danger yet not being able to stand the thought of being without her, he finally found her exiting the girl's restroom cradling her hand.

"Where were you!?" He practically shouted as he shook her by the shoulders, watching as her eyes widened under his chilling glare.

He realized what he was doing.

Slowly easing up on his grip, he then let his hands fall to his sides, his eyes however not once leaving her form. Glancing from her bruised knuckles to her face, he waited.

"Unforeseen issues arose," (Y/N) then answered apathetically—she didn't continue.

    "Care to elaborate?" Cage pushed.

"Not really."

"Then start caring right now. I'm not someone that holds a lot of patience."

    (Y/N) frowned.

    Something was wrong.

    Drastically wrong.

She had began noticing the subtle shifts in Cage when he started to get really touchy with her, whether it be playing with her hair or suddenly pulling her in by the waist or shoulders, there was a difference. And now, in that exact moment, it was so glaringly obvious what that difference was that she took a step back, breaking her gaze from his own.

"If you must know, some of your obsessive fans took me to the back of the school and threatened me to stay away from you or they'll make me regret it," (Y/N) finally announced as she gave him a pointed look. "Jasmine and Angelina, you know? So if I'm ever on the news where the police find my body in a ditch, you'll know who did it."

She meant to lighten the mood.

    It didn't work.

"Jasmine and Angelina... huh?" Cage muttered, his dark eyes taking on a rather murderous glint that made (Y/N) falter. "I'll be right back."

And with that, he left her.

If he wanted to make sure there wouldn't be a problem again, he needed to cut it out by the roots. It wasn't long before he found the two, they being in the nurse's office with said nurse nowhere to be found. Angelina was holding an ice pack to Jasmine's nose, bloody tissues next to them indicating that there had been a mess.

"I can't believe that bitch almost broke my nose!" Jasmine scowled.

"We'll get back at her," Angelina sighed.

    They hadn't noticed Cage.

That was, until he made them notice him.

"So..." he started, his fingers tearing through Angelina's hair to harshly yank her back with a squeal of pain, dropping the ice pack and revealing Jasmine's dried, bloody nose. "I heard about your little... conversation with (Y/N). Let's have our own about that."

"C-Cage!" Jasmine gasped in surprise, immediately trying to cover her face.

    Cage glanced down at Angelina.

She was struggling to stand up considering he was forcing her down by her hair, her hands grasping at his own to let her go, her face twisted in pain. Rolling his eyes, he threw her at Jasmine's feet before pulling up a chair, gesturing for them to sit while he did the same. Angelina, sniffling, sat next to Jasmine, both then flinching from the dark glare that Cage gave them.

"Why..." Jasmine whispered, her fists tightening on her thighs. "Why (Y/N)?"

    "Hm?" Cage tilted his head.

"Why is it (Y/N)!?" She screamed, jolting backwards when Cage held up a finger, no warmth at all in his expression.

"I'm usually a very lenient person," he began whilst dropping his hand, slowly standing up and rounding the two girls so that he was behind them. "But what you've done is unacceptable. I suggest you leave this school if you value your lives. That is the only warning I'm giving you, so I suggest you heed it wisely. Do you understand?"

"No!" Jasmine yelled as she stood up and whirled around. "Why do you keep standing up for that fucking bitc—"

In only a moment, she was cut off.

Closing the distance between them in mere seconds, Cage had grabbed a hold of her throat and slammed her against the wall. She gave a choked gasp as she struggled to breath, his grip on her throat tightening the more she thrashed around, Angelina only looking on in mute horror.

"It seems like I can't get it through your thick skull unless I spell it out," Cage muttered lowly as he stared into Jasmine's eyes.

She cried at him to stop.

    He didn't.

"If you insult (Y/N) again, if you appear in this school again, if you so much as try to approach (Y/N) outside of school, I will know," Cage continued with a low growl, his tone dropping several octaves as he spoke. "And if that happens, you won't want to find out what I'll do. So, I suggest you don't even finish that sentence lest you want me to cut out your tongue entirely. Now I say it again, do you fucking understand me?"

"Y-Yes," Jasmine weakly choked out, her vision blurring both from her tears and how lightheaded she was starting to feel. "I-I... under... stand!"

    Cage released her.

Dropping to her knees and greedily inhaling the air that she had been deprived of, Angelina quick to be by her side, Jasmine slowly let her gaze travel upwards to where Cage was walking away. He whistled as he did so, as if nothing of what he just did slighted his conscious. And for the first time since she met him, Jasmine could only look at him with fear and apprehension.

    Something was wrong with him.

And she knew it was all because of (Y/N).
