Ownership (n.)
the act of possessing something entirely

Both Cage and (Y/N) walked into class hand in hand, the scattering of students filling the desks immediately halting their conversations to turn around and stare at ten as they passed. It was unsettling to (Y/N), their eyes like needles pricking her skin trying to see past the calm front that she put up—the front that said she was okay.
Of course, this wasn't the truth.
She was tired.
Tired of Cage's games, of how he held the strings of her life and danced her like a puppet for his own twisted and whimsical amusement.
Why me?
She asked herself that question multiple times.
There was no answer.
For in fact, when Cage spoke to her on the rooftop of the school about their meeting being fate, she couldn't entirely deny it. Their meeting was purely by chance—a chance that led her down a twisted and thorny path to where she was now. She pondered what Cage would act like if it wasn't her that had been behind that counter, if it wasn't her that he helped from Jayden, and if it wasn't her who saw past his walls. Would he act the same with them like he did with her?
She didn't know.
As she gazed forward blankly, she didn't notice the way Cage stared down at her with those intense dark eyes of his, a rather psychotic smirk twitching its way onto his lips.
He couldn't help it, though.
For too long he had to keep his dark and poisonous feelings for her hidden, his sanity having come close to breaking every time he was with her, every time he saw her smile, and every time their hands would accidentally brush. To think that she would dance right into his hands was something he never imagined, but then again, he had set up all the chess pieces on the board so he could claim victory. There was nothing she could do about that, and he would make sure she never would.
Sitting down in the back, (Y/N) flinched when Cage pulled her desk right next to his, the metal legs screeching against the tile floor.
He paid no mind to the noise.
Instead, he set one hand possessively on her thigh as if she would run away if he didn't, continuing to stare straight ahead as the teacher started class. (Y/N)'s whole body felt numb, her hands folded limply in her lap while she just stared at them, completely tuning out the teacher's lesson about what medical laws were passed in Germany in the 1800's.
It wasn't like she could focus.
Like a dark cloud hanging over her head, she was forced to take both Cage's obsessive ways and the harsh opinions of her peers.
