The Meg (Jonas x reader)

Bonus Chapter - "My hero."

Jonas is joining your team on a dive today. You're waiting for him, but he gets sent on a rescue right before his shift ended so he had to stay longer. Your team decides to start the work when you planned to, so you dive alone. It was right by the coast, so Jonas would just join when he arrived.

  What none of you predicted was the landslide that happened, you tried to swim out of the way. However, a rock hits your mask and another rock lands on your foot trapping you.

  "Yn, come in? Are you okay?" Mac asks through the coms. You groan in answer. "Yn, come in. Can you hear me?"

  "Yeah, Mac. I can hear you." You tell him and look at the tablet wrapped to your wrist and see your oxygen level dropping. "But I'm in a bit of a pickle."

  "What's going on?"

  "My mask was hit, I'm leaking oxygen. And I'm trapped."

  "Okay, hold on Yn. We'll be right down there, to get you." He reassures you.

  You loose oxygen rapidly. Jonas comes down the dock where your team had put up all the equipment for the job.

  "Hey, sorry I'm late." He says and looks at the team.

  They look at him with wide eyes. He notices how they're all on edge, stopped in their tracks trying to get ready for something.

  "What?" He asks, then he looks around for you. "Where is she?" He asks Mac, a growing worry for you at the vide he's getting.

  "There was a landslide. Her foot is trapped and she's loosing oxygen. We need to get down there."

  "Well, what are you waiting for?"

  Mac looks down at the oxygen mask he was literally about to jump into the water with. Jonas doesn't wait for an answer as he just takes the mask and jumps into the water.

  "Jonas is on his way, Yn." Mac tells and you smile.

  "That's nice." You mumble as you start to get very sleepy.

  After a minute later, you see a figure swimming toward you. Your vision is a little blurry so you're not sure what it is until it gets closer.

  "Oh, hey Jonas. Funny meeting you here."

  "Yn, he doesn't have an earpiece so he can't hear you." Mac tells you.

  "Oh.. So I can say whatever I want and he won't know?" You ask, dizzy.

  "Yeah.." Mac says hesitantly but smiling, kind of hoping you'll say something entertaining.

  "Hm.. You're really handsome Jonas, but I've already told you that, that's no secret.. Hmm."

  You try to think of something to say. Mac hopes you'll confess your feelings. But you're not ready for that yet. You admire him and appreciate the friendship you have. Yes, you find him handsome and wonderful, but you want to be certain he's a man that would be a good life partner to you and you to them. Till now you have already seen some signs that makes you believe that he just might be it, that's why people around you ship the two of you.

  But you want to take your time and be certain. You also have a hard time knowing how Jonas would feel on the topic, but you don't dare ask. And if you find him not to be it for you, you want to be able to keep the friendship between you. And the best way is to figure this out by yourself and not bring it up unless it's necessary for some reason. When you know, you will know if it's worth risking your friendship or not.

  Jonas lifts the rock off your foot, freeing you.

  "My hero." You mumble.

  He grabs you and swim to the surface, and when he rips your mask off, you gasp for fresh air.

  "You okay?"

You nod weakly and smile, leaning your head on him. He swims you back to the others. Mac and Jonas drives you to the hospital to get checked just in case, but you are fine and get sent home right after. Jonas drives you home and you kiss his cheek before getting out of the car. He's frozen as he watches you walk from the car and up to your apartment building's entrance. A faint pink colour paints his cheeks.
