Naruto lay back on the deck of the Going Merry, staring up at the bright oranges hanging from the trees. The gentle sway of the ship and the scent of citrus in the air did little to ease the restlessness in his mind.

"Hey, are you okay?" Luffy asked as he sat next to him.

Naruto shrugged, his eyes still fixed on the oranges. "Do you think those pirates broke their promise?" he asked.

"Why does it matter?" Luffy replied, cocking his head to the side.

Naruto stayed silent for a moment, the memories of his encounter at Loguetown swirling in his mind. "I met Pervy Sage at Loguetown," he finally said.

Luffy's eyes widened with surprise. "Are you serious?" he asked, leaning in closer. "How'd you guys meet? Was that why you were so late?"

Naruto nodded. "It was during my fight with Sasuke. I almost got killed, and he saved me," he explained.

"That's awesome!" Luffy exclaimed with a wide grin, then quickly added, "I mean, not you almost being killed, but anyway." He paused, trying to find the right words. "You haven't seen him in years, so why are you so down?"

Naruto sighed, his expression clouded with doubt. "Pervy Sage promised me that we'd meet again, but what if we don't? What if he abandons me like those pirates did to Laboon?" he wondered aloud, the fear of being forgotten weighing heavily on him.

Luffy's expression turned serious. "He won't break his promise," he said with conviction.

Naruto tilted his head. "How do you know?" he asked, needing something to hold onto.

"Because I'll kick that guy's ass!" Luffy declared.

Naruto giggled at the absurdity of the thought. "Seriously?" he asked, a small smile tugging at his lips.

"If anyone abandons my brother, then I'll kick their ass!" Luffy said.

Naruto grinned, feeling a surge of warmth and camaraderie. "And I'll do the same thing!" he said. "If anyone abandons you Luffy, I'll kick their ass!"

They both turned their attention to Laboon, the giant whale that had been waiting patiently for so many years. "How can we help Laboon?" Naruto asked, his heart aching for the lonely creature.

Luffy grinned. "Brother style!" he exclaimed.

Naruto took a deep breath as he stood in front of Laboon, the massive whale looming over him like a mountain. The salty breeze whipped through his hair, and the sound of waves crashing against the ship's hull filled the air. "Hey, you stupid giant fish!" he yelled, his voice echoing across the water.
