The residents of Konoha no Sato, a town of shinobi nestled near the waters of the Grand Line, remember October 10th as a day stained with sorrow. It was on this day that the village fell under siege by the Nine-Tailed Fox, a monstrous creature of unfathomable power. The beast's rampage left nothing but death and destruction in its wake. Homes were reduced to rubble, families torn apart, and the cries of the wounded echoed through the night.

Among the casualties was the village's beloved leader, the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, who sacrificed his life to protect his people. Known far and wide for his incredible speed and courage, Minato was revered as the Yellow Flash of the Sea. His loss was a blow that would forever scar the hearts of the villagers, shinobi and the military.

On that very same day, a small child was born. His name was Naruto Uzumaki. However, unlike most children, Naruto's life was anything but ordinary. From the moment of his birth, he was marked as an outcast, cursed to bear the hatred of an entire village. The villagers, blinded by their grief and anger, saw Naruto not as an innocent child, but as the living embodiment of the Nine-Tailed Fox. To them, Naruto was nothing more than a monster and a constant reminder of the pain they had endured. From the time he could walk, Naruto was forced to fight for his survival, enduring a childhood filled with taunts, abuse, and cold stares. Even on his birthday, a day meant to be filled with joy and celebration, Naruto was met with the same cruel treatment, a harsh reminder that he was alone in the world.

Despite the harshness of his reality, Naruto found solace in the night. As darkness fell over Konoha, the sky above would open up, revealing a blanket of stars that offered him a brief escape from his troubles. The quiet of the night was the only time he could truly feel at peace, away from the hateful glares and hurtful words. But tonight was different; tonight was his birthday, and Naruto was determined to make it special, even if only for himself. With a mischievous grin, he set out to pull off his biggest prank yet: painting the faces of the Hokage Monument, where the stone-carved visages of Konoha's most revered leaders overlooked the village. He knew it would get him in trouble, but in his heart, he just wanted to be noticed—wanted someone, anyone, to acknowledge that he existed.

After his prank was complete, Naruto's stomach growled in hunger. Having no one to share a meal with, he scavenged for food in the dumpsters behind the village's shops. His "birthday feast" consisted of scraps and leftovers discarded by others, a pitiful meal for a boy who had known little else. Once his hunger was sated, Naruto made his way through the darkened streets, passing by a pub filled with the boisterous sounds of villagers winding down from their day. The laughter, clinking glasses, and shouted conversations filled the air, a stark contrast to the loneliness Naruto felt deep inside.

As he walked past the entrance, something caught the attention of one of the people inside.  "Hey," he drawled. "isn't that the demon kid?"

The words cut through the air like a knife, and in an instant, the lively chatter in the pub fell silent. All eyes turned to Naruto. The young boy's heart sank, a familiar dread washing over him as he tried to avoid their piercing stares.
