"Nee-chan, Usopp!" Naruto shouted, shifting his focus to his friends. "Go find Luffy and Vivi-chan!" he commanded. "Leave these guys to me!" His eyes locked onto Mr. 5.
"What are you, crazy?" Usopp asked. "Y-you think you can take these guys on by yourself? They just took out a giant!"
Naruto sighed. He dug into his pouch, pulling out a small, round object and holding it out to Usopp. "Here," he said, his voice steady. "It's a prototype of what we were talking about on the ship." He placed the small ball in Usopp's trembling hands. "Something sealed inside it. Just aim it, and let the seal do all the work."
"But Naruto—" Nami began as she looked at him.
"Guys, I'll be fine," Naruto interrupted. "Luffy and Vivi-chan need you more than I do." He knew that he had to protect his friends and he was ready to fight for those he cared about.

Naruto and Mr. 5 stood locked in a silent stare, each waiting for the other to make the first move. Mr. 5's cold, calculating gaze bored into Naruto's sharp blue eyes.
Miss Valentine rolled her eyes. "Are we just going to stand here, or are we going to fight?" she asked, tapping her foot against the ground as she folded her arms.
Naruto didn't break eye contact with Mr. 5, but his grin grew wider. "I don't know..." he said nonchalantly, shifting his weight onto one foot. "Are you going to get kicked in the face again?" he asked, glancing briefly at Miss Valentine.
"You...you brat!" Miss Valentine snapped. "You should've died at Whiskey Peak!" With that, she launched herself at him. "10,000-ton drop!" she screamed, her body coming down like a meteor aimed directly at his head.
"Crap!" Naruto yelped as he narrowly leaped out of the way, rolling across the dirt and scrambling to his feet. A massive boom followed as Miss Valentine's impact left a deep crater where he had been standing just moments earlier. He looked over his shoulder at the hole in the ground, eyes wide."Whoa..." he muttered. "That could've killed me..."
Miss Valentine landed gracefully, straightening her dress with a pout. "Damn. I missed," she said, clicking her tongue in frustration.
Naruto blinked. "Aren't you, like... older than me?" he asked aloud. Before he could get an answer, a tiny object no larger than a speck drifted toward him. Naruto squinted at it as it hovered lazily in the air. "What the—?"
