waking up in a cold hotel room was something raven was very, very used to. but the arm slung around her waist and the lack of clothes was not. she sat up on one elbow and looked over her shoulder to see brandon still asleep. she sighed and got up, knowing somebody would be in to tell her to get ready to leave within the hour. slipping out from under brandons arm, she walked into the bathroom to quickly shower. not to mention the noticeable limp in her step.
coming back within 5 minutes, wrapped in a towel with her hair in a bun, raven shuffled through her bag to find a change of clothes. she finally decided on a pair of black bell-bottom jeans and a white t-shirt that raven had taken a pair of scissors to, reading 'fuck me im a rockstar'. after looking over at brandon and seeing him still asleep, she dropped the towel and got dressed where she stood.
as she buttoned her jeans, she heard a yawn. "what is it with you and the cold?" he asked, standing from the bed, wrapped in the blanket. raven laughed softly as she pulled her shirt over her head.
"I lived in alaska for a year and a half, i like the cold," she spoke softly, now turning around to face him. the two had a decent height difference, enough for brandon to have to look down and raven to have to tilt her head up.
"when did you live in alaska?" he asks, wrapping his arms around her, engulfing her in the blanket as he does so. raven wraps her arms around his waist, the exposed bit of her stomach brushing against his abs.
" '82 and '83. I thought it'd be cool and I had the opportunity since we were back from touring and we had a break. it was so awesome, you see the coolest stuff. the fishing up there is killer," she smiled up at him.
"oh yeah?" he hummed, slipping his hands under her shirt and rubbing the skin with the tips of his fingers.
she nodded happily. "yeah, and you wanna know my favorite part?"
brandon nodded with a smile, figuring it had something to do with something that lived in the ocean. "I got to see orcas! I would go sit out and sometimes you could see them—ugh I was living my dream."
"why'd you move back to la?" he asks, confused as to why raven would want to move back to the big city when he knew she was happier in quiet small towns.
raven shrugged, leaning her head against his chest and hugging him tightly. "I kinda felt like I had to. I mean everything that makes me raven morgan is in los angeles."
brandon shook his head in disagreement, looking down at the girl in his arms and reciprocating the tight hold she had on him. "no honey, everything that makes you a rockstar is in los angeles. everything that makes you raven morgan is standing right here."
raven smiled softly, moving her head so her chin rested against his chest and she was looking up at him. "I have to finish getting ready. as much as I hate it, I have to leave."
"that's okay, I'll see you again—if you want?" he asked, pausing unsurely.
"I'd like that," she nodded, pulling away. brandon pressed a kiss to her lips before letting her go. she walked off to the bathroom and brandon plopped down onto the edge of the bed with a huff. he ran his hands down his face before getting up and putting his clothes back on. knowing how raven was, he made the bed before sitting back down on it and clicking on the tv to watch the Flinstones.
a knock at the door startled the man, and he jumped a bit at the sudden noise. raven shuffled out of the bathroom and to the door with a toothbrush hanging limply between her lips. she threw the door open, really not caring at this point who it was and if they saw brandon.
it was slash, shockingly enough. his eyes caught a glimpse of brandon over ravens head before they came back to her and he cleared his throat before speaking. "uhm, steve made me come tell you to get going. we need to leave in thirty," he stood awkwardly outside the door.
raven pulled out her toothbrush and pursed her lips with a nod. when he didn't leave, she raised a brow. "do you wanna come wait or something?"
"no, gross," he made a face after glancing at brandon again. "just hurry up, we're getting breakfast at this diner down the road before we get going," he told her before walking away.
raven sighed and swung the door shut. she walked back to the bathroom to finish brushing her teeth and came back into the bedroom, flopping down beside her ex-boyfriend. he was lying with his feet crossed and his hands behind his head, propped up on the pillows. he looks down at her from the corner of his eyes, knowing the look all too well. "what do you want?"
"you to come to breakfast with us, pretty please," she begged, clasping her hands together.
"ok," he agreed, admiring her happy expression.
"really?"
brandon hummed. raven smiled, kissing his cheek before hopping off the bed and heading back to the bathroom to do her skincare and some light makeup. coming back, she handed brandon one of the extra toothbrushes she kept in her bag and some toothpaste so he could brush his teeth.
once the pair were ready, they held hands as they made their way downstairs to floras room.
