"Is your mother Eudoria Holmes?" she asked softly.enola's eyes widened.
not what she was expecting...
her eyebrows furrowed. "yes.."
Marmee jumped back a little.
"is everything alright?" Enola asked carefully.
"I-I knew your mother..."
enola's eyes went wide as she brought her hand to her mouth. "do you?"
Marmee nodded. "she was my friend... for many years... i used to take care of you, you know..." she chuckled.
Enola let out a tiny chuckle, before it hit her.
"Margaret?"
Marmee nodded. "Tis i." she laughed.
"my mother, she told me a story about you, you were there the night my parents met!" Enola smiled.
Marmee's smile faltered.
"it was romantic wasn't it?!" enola said, now excited.
'she could tell me more!'
Marmee cleared her throat and looked down. "Very." she said with a fake smile.
Enola tilted her head.
"it was... right?" enola asked, watching her carefully.
"at first..."
confusion struck Enola "can... can you tell me what happened after?"
'her mother didn't tell her the second part of the story?'
Marmee shook her head. "it's not my business to tell."
Enola put her hand on Marmees "please
Marmee..."Marmee looked at the young girl for a moment before nodding.
"alright..."
"Eudoria! slow down! your father's not gonna kill you! stop running so fast, i can't run!" Marmee laughed.
Eudoria chuckled and continued to run, but as she passed a bridge a few feet away she stopped, making Marmee stop.
"why have we stopped?" Marmee asked with an awkward chuckle.
her awkward smile soon left her face as she noticed the way her friends chin was wobbling, and her eyes were now glistening with tears.
"hey... hey what's wrong?" she asked Eudoria softly, grabbing her hands.
Eudoria broke one of her hands away and pointed towards two people on the bridges
Marmee looked at the two people and gasped.
The man, alexander.
kissing a girl.
Eudoria broke into tears and ran away.
"Eudoria! come back! where are you going?" Marmee chased after her.
Alexander snapped his head toward them and his eyes widened and he pushed the girl away from him.
the women let out a grunt as she fell to the ground.
Marmee had lost sight of her friend so she ran back to confront him.
"How dare you! You ought to be ashamed of yourself!" she slapped him.
Alexander grunted. "it wasn't like that! it didn't mean anything! it was just an in the moment kind of thing!" he defended, as the girl on the floor still had no clue what was going on.
