I glanced over to Alec who seemed to be lost in thought. He was also forgetting to blink and it was incredibly creepy. I waited for a moment, shifting to a position that was easier to get up from. His eyes darted to follow my movement. After I settled back he did the same. I made sure he was deep in another world and then I lurched upright and took off running. I hurtled away at top speed. I glanced back once to see Alec crossing the crowd as quickly as possible without being suspicious.

"Myla!" He yelled. I ignored him, pushing myself faster. I haven't run this fast since the newborns were chasing me. Ah, the simple times. I made it to my destination, a shadowy deserted alley. I launched myself into a corner and called the shadows to let me travel. I told them to take me to where Ashlynn was, they understood commands like this. Alec reached the alley just before I was gone. He tried grabbing me, but I was already a mist. He spun on his heel and raced toward the castle. I then disappeared, traveling to my destination. Once I arrived it would be either kill, or be killed. Either way I got what I wanted, freedom from at least one of my many vampire enemies. I was on bad terms with quite a few of them. I swear, making supernatural creatures angry is my second gift. I am very skilled at that. I could probably turn the entire vampire race against me in a single conversation. I take a deep breath as I feel my travel coming to an end. This was it, I landed.

As soon as I landed I saw Ashlynn, she had her back to me. There was one other female in the room with her. Neither had noticed me yet. I rushed forward knowing that I had to act fast before Ashlynn stole my advantage. I wrap my hands around her neck and light them on fire. I knew from experience that it is hard to use your gift when in a life or death situation. I take the time to mentally order my shadows. They appearred and began to fight on my command. I was suddenly thrown backwards off of Ashlynn. There were suddenly four other vampires in the room. Three of which were locked in combat with my shadows, while the other tried to recover from almost having her face burnt off, courtesy of yours truly. Ashlynn recovered enough to take out my gift, but not before it took out her three minions. I didn't have time to burn the pieces right now, I would deal with that later. If there is a later. I remembered from my room encounter that I can still use the wolf. I summoned him from within me. Cold shot down my spine and I was on four legs. I stalked toward Ashlynn, just as I was getting close enough to pounce the door was thrown open and five more vampires flood in. Great, more to kill. They weren't newborns, but are not super old either. Like teenagers stuck in the awkward years between adulthood and childhood. Reluctantly I turned away from Ashlynn and faced the bigger  and more numerous threat. I launched into combat with them. After a few minutes of fighting, and many bruises later there are five dismembered vampires at my feet. Looks like all the training with the Volturi did pay off. I was suddenly thrown against the wall. Ashlynn had her arms around my throat. With a sinking feeling I remember what Jasper always used to tell me 'Never turn you back on your enemy.' He would tell me stories sometimes if I asked him. He always told me good ones, the ones that didn't hurt him. He always would talk about battles, then lecture me on do's and don'ts. I wonder if Alice had one of the visions where she can see I will need something, but not why. I am brought back to the present by Ashlynn whispering in my ear.

"You made my life easier by coming to me, but it will not help your situation. You killed my Anthony, now I will kill you." She seemed to lose concentration for a second when she speaks his name. Never lose focus, I jerk my head around, making her loosen her grip. Her leg is in my view and I bite down hard on it. She screams out, and releases my neck, grabbing her leg in an attempt to pry it out of my mouth. With her momentarily distracted, I release her leg and move out of the way. The door again flies open at the sound of her screaming. How many vampires does she have? There are four of them, you can tell these are more trained than the rest. I wonder how she got them to work for her. It doesn't really matter, I just need to not get killed by them, not their life story. They see me and spread out coming at me from all directions. The obvious way would be to go for the one directly in front of me, but they will be expecting that. Then I will have them on me from both sides. Never go for the obvious kill. Thank you Jasper. I go for the one on the far left. They were clearly not expecting that. I kill that one in no time. The one next to it lands a solid blow on my chest, knocking the air out of me. Luckily for me nothing breaks. I quickly bite down hard on its head, tearing it off. Two down, two to go. Three if you count Ashlynn over there. I looked around for the other two. My eyes landed on one, where was the other? I was suddenly hit backwards by a force as strong as a freight train. Found it. I was now pinned under it. I felt it start to squeeze. It was going to crush me like a tin can. Even more adrenaline rushed through me making me stronger, it is funny how you can do so many things when you are about to die. Suddenly I burst into flame, taking the vamp down with me. I stood up, my coat still ablaze. I felt my wolf start to deteriorate until I was human again. I could not hold them both at once. Now I was covered in fire though. I could feel the strain on myself, but I was too busy to care. The one that was left suddenly lunged for me, aiming straight for my chest. I tried to dodge, but I was too slow. It managed to hit me in the arm, creating a large gash. It stung like a thousand hornets. The gash was deep, now leaking an impressive amount of blood. Something felt off with the cut, but I would have time to figure it out later, right now I was busy not getting sucked dry. Luckily for me there seemed to be no more vampires nearby, for they would have come running at the scent of my blood. I ducked under another attack, this one raking against my scalp. I was losing too much blood. I gathered the last of my rapidly declining strength and used it to call upon the wolf. I felt myself start to change. I was on four legs and still on fire. Pretty good if you ask me. Ashlynn was weak from my attacks, and so was her power, giving me more power. It was still exhausting to hold this form, I had to work quickly, no messing around. The vampire was still running at me like a mad man, still crazed by the scent of my blood. This time I met it head on. I broke off an arm and spit it to the other side of the room. The vampire ignored the fact that it was down a limb and continued to try to drink me. If you ask me this vampire needs to get its priorities straight. Get my arm back, or try to drink the blood of the thing that ripped my arm off? Gotta have the blood. I mean common sense dude! This time I got hold of his head and tore it from his body. I moved onto Ashlynn, who was still nursing her wound. What a baby. I stumbled on my way there, but still held my form. Her eyes widened when she saw me approaching. She opened her mouth to say something, but I just quickly ended her, too tired for any more games. I let down the wolf, satisfied that there were no more vampires. I stumbled around the room and collected the bodies and piled them up for burning. The total headcount is eleven, including Ashlynn. I stood next to the pile, desperately trying to get a spark from my fingers. I eventually succeeded and the pile was set alight. I breathed a sigh of relief when I realized my problem was taken care of. The air gets caught in my throat when I remember my other problem, the Volturi. What if they think I ran away? Bella! Aro had threatened her if I ran away. I rushed to the corner and tried desperately to shadow travel. I was panting hard by the time I finally got it. Traveling was much harder than usual. But to be fair I just killed eleven vampires single handedly. I think I have an excuse to be tired. It took more time than usual too. Just as I almost lost my consciousness from over usage I was standing in the throne room. Alec was pacing while Demetri was talking to Aro.
