What the Heart Wants

Chapter Five

I heard my alarm go off and flew out of bed. I'm not normally an early riser but today I was extra eager to get to school. I hoped in the shower. Washed, sang, thought about my day etc.. Grabbed my towel and threw my hair up. I couldn't wait to leave for school. Today Alex and I would be walking to school together. I know it's totally pathetic but I couldn't help it, I was just so happy!

 After I was dressed I went to do my makeup. I only wear makeup when I can be bothered but even still I don't wear that much. However, today was different. I started off with some concealer to make sure any spots were covered up. I'm not a very spotty person so I only had about three to cover up anyway. I then applied just a little foundation to give myself a bit of a glow. I have naturally rosy cheeks so no blusher was needed. I applied just a thin line of eyeliner so that it made my eyes pop without being noticeable (we aren't allowed to wear makeup to school.) And finally I did my mascara. I have really short eyelashes so when I apply my mascara I always use at least three different ones. I sprayed myself with perfume and let my hair down before looking in the mirror. I thought I looked pretty good.

I grabbed my bag and shoes and ran down the stairs. I flew into the kitchen, grabbed a slice of toast off the table and sat down before biting into it.

"Where are you off to in such a hurry?" my mum asked looking at me with an amused expression. Instantly I started blushing. It wasn't that I was ashamed or embarrassed to tell my mum about Alex. I just thought the whole conversation would be rather awkward. My mum always had a way  of making things out to be such a big deal.

"I have that chemistry test today, remember? Sophie and I were gonna go in early to get some last minute revision done."

"Oh well I can help you now if you want? You know, ask some questions and stuff?"

"Nah it's fine, but thanks anyway!"

It wasn't a complete lie. I did in fact actually have a chemistry test today. But it was only a mini one and would be so easy. My mum didn't seem to notice I was lying so before she asked anymore questions I slung my bag over my shoulder, pecked her on the cheek and headed out calling out a "Bye, mum!" before I left.

I jogged down the lane coming to a stop outside Joan's house. I checked my watch and realised it was only 7:30. Wow, I must have been a lot earlier than I thought. I didn't dwell on it too much and instead walked up the short drive way and rang the doorbell. I was greeted a few minutes later by a very sleepy Alex who was wearing nothing but his boxers. Oh my. His body was godly. All his muscles were so defined and his abs... Just oh my. He was drool worthy. In fact I'm pretty sure I was drooling right now. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a small pool on the doorstep.

"Uh.. Lucy?" Alex said pulling me out of my thoughts.

"S-s-sorry," I quickly mumbled. Thank god he was half asleep. It would have been so embarrassing if he had caught onto me staring at his sexy body.

"It's me that should be apologising. I didn't realise you were such an early riser! Just give me like twenty minutes to get ready and then we can go. Do you wanna come in and wait?"

"Sure."

I was still totally mesmerised by his abs. I just followed him inside and watched him lustfully as he leaped up the stairs. He had one hell of an ass as well. Stop it, Lucy! You've got to to snap out of it! I quickly shook my head and walked over to the couch. I flicked on the TV and started flipping through the channels. There was nothing decent on so I just watched the music charts.

A few minutes later Alex appeared at the top of the stairs in nothing but a towel. Dripping wet. Little droplets all down his chest. His hair messily pushed back. My mouth dropped. Why was he doing this to me?

"Sorry but can you turn down the music a little please? It's just my aunt's trying to sleep and I don't want to wake her." I snapped my mouth shut and just nodded. I felt like such a moron. "Cheers."

I couldn't focus on the television any longer. Not after witnessing Alex topless not once, but twice. There was no way I would be able to hold it together on the way to school.

It turned 7:45 and down came Alex ready to go. Well not exactly ready. His hair was still damp, his tie was hanging loosely round his neck and his top buttons were undone giving me a glimpse of his pecks. Yum. He flashed me a grin and motioned towards the door. I got up and started walking, my legs felt weak and I was praying they wouldn't give in.

We stepped outside and I was greeted with the cold air. Why hadn't I noticed that before? You were probably too busy thinking about Alex. I internally groaned because I knew it was true. It was just so bizarre. I'd never felt like this around anyone before. Especially not someone I'd known for less than a week! I looked over at Alex and realised he was looking at me with his eyebrows raised.

"Sorry, what?" I asked, totally out of it.

"I said, it's pretty cold this morning. Don't you think?"

"You're really asking me about the weather?" I laughed.

"It's an excellent conversation starter!"

"Sureeeeee."

"Well clearly it's working because we're conversing. So that just proves I'm right!"

"Conversing? Who says that?"

We both just laughed. I couldn't help but think how easy he was to talk to. I know he's a total player but that doesn't mean he can't be a nice guy, right? We continued with our banter for another ten minutes or so before we passed a cafe and the smell of baking instantly filled our nostrils. I looked up at Alex and realised he probably hadn't had any breakfast because I was so early this morning. Nice one, Lucy.

"Are you hungry?" Alex asked me. I just nodded. Even though I wasn't that hungry I really wanted to spend more time with him. This was almost like an unofficial date. He opened the door to the cafe for me and I went inside. The amazing smell was all of a sudden more intense. The warm atmosphere of the shop instantly relaxed me. I breathed in a deep breath and closed my eyes. Then I felt two arms wrap around my waist from behind me and a hot breath on my neck.

"You can go find a table and I'll order for us."

His lips were grazing against my ear as he spoke. I was totally frozen to the spot. There was no way I'd be able to go get a table. As if reading my mind Alex gave me a gentle nudge and I started walking over to the sofas at the back of the cafe. I sat down and slowly started to process what had just happened. And that's when I felt it. The dampness between my legs.
