I dreamed of him last night. He was the last thing I thought of before I went to bed and the first thing I thought of when I woke up. His eyes. His smile. His body. It was all just too perfect. I woke up with the biggest grin on my face just from thinking about him and I didn't even know his name.

I got out of bed and started getting ready for school, the smile never leaving my face. I skipped downstairs and practically sprinted out the door. I was just so keen to get to school to tell Sophie all about my new neighbour.

Sophie is my best friend. We've known each other since the first day of school and have been friends for years. We weren't always friends though. In fact, the first time we met we were arch enemies. We both really liked this boy in our class called Kyle and were always fighting over him. That was until he started crying when he accidentally killed a fly. Sophie and I found it so funny we didn't even care that we weren't friends, we just laughed together and have been inseparable ever since.

So that was me and Sophie's story. I tell her everything and she'd be super excited to hear about this. She's been nagging me for months about not having a boyfriend and has been trying to set me with up someone. But none of the boys I knew really interested me. The boy next door did. Which is why she'd be even more excited when I told her about him.

I continued to walk down the lane when I passed Joan's house. I slowed right down and tried to subtly peer in the windows to see if I could see him. But no such luck. He must have already left for school. I was a tad heart broken I wouldn't get to see those eyes of his, but I'll live.

It took me about twenty minutes but I finally made it to school. Instantly I saw Sophie's long golden locks and made my way towards her. I went right up behind her and shouted "Boo!" causing her to jump before we both started laughing.

After some gossiping Sophie asked me if I'd seen the new kid. I instantly shook my head. I didn't even know there was anyone new joining the school. That's when it hit me. Could it be him? I hoped so. That would be the most amazing thing ever. Sophie continued telling me about the new kid. She said his name was Alex. I didn't know what Joan's nephews name was but it could be Alex. She carried on telling me that he'd been kicked out of his old school for "improper conduct" which Sophie explained actually meant he'd been caught behind one of the buildings with some girl. More than once. Ugh, he sounded like such a douche. I already didn't like him. He sounded like such a player. Apparently he was also super hot and a real charmer but none of that mattered if he was a player.

I sat there thinking about what the new boy would be like when I saw those pools of chocolate staring into me. There he was. The boy next door. We just sat there for what seemed like ages. Our gazes locked. That's when Sophie started bouncing up and down next to me, pointing at him shouting "That's him! That's Alex!"

My heart stopped. I was gutted. My boy next door was a player. His name was Alex. I was so disappointed. Sophie noticed the sad look on my face and instantly asked what was wrong. I told her everything. Explained how I had a slight crush on him and how I was secretly hoping that he liked me too. At first she didn't understand what the problem was and just looked at me with a confused expression.

"He's a player, Sophs. Nothing can ever happen."

"Don't be stupid! You don't even know him, give the poor guy a chance before you turn him down! Ya never know!"

I just rolled my eyes at her. She was always so optimistic about everything. I heard the bell ring and yanked  her up before dragging her along behind me.

"Come on, Sophie. Lets get to class before we get a detention."

So I've kept this chapter the same because I'm happy with it the way it is. Song of the chapter is "On My Way" by Charlie Brown. I actually love that song! Video is on the side for all you don't know it :) Please comment, vote and follow, thanks <3
