Chapter 23
Valentino POV
Along with the photo I snap of Lucia and the information I obtain from her, I present it to a guy I know. It would just take a few days to acquire her fraudulent documents, such as her birth certificate, ID, and a fake passport, stamped indicating that she was in the US.
"That is highway robbery." Reaper whispered from beside me. My brows furrowed in irritation. He couldn't accept that I was prepared to spend $50,000 to receive the paper. She also requires many more paperwork, but these were the fundamentals.
"Illegality requires money. A lot of it."
"Her pussy must be on fire; why are you doing all of this."
My palm struck him on the mouth, and he growled and glared at me.
I stared as well. "What did I say about her?"
He appeared scared, and I couldn't help but chuckle at his bewildered expression. However, my laugh died, and crawled to the floor. "Do not speak about her in a sexual manner. "Do not let me aim my pistol at you."
"All I said is..."
As I gazed, his words faded into nothing but air. I exhaled. I suppose I'll speak to him about her once. "All she wants is sex."
He seemed puzzled. "What should I make of this circumstance? You just..."
"I understand what I just stated. And I stand by what I stated. But I'd want to rant." I embarrassingly disclosed
"You can't be seen lacking like that. Venting?"
"Whatever."
"I believe your little girlfriend is a little weird, given how she used to offer top for money and things. Awww, she wants to repay you."
My face scrunched up in distaste, but he wasn't incorrect; this didn't stop me from slapping him across the lips. He wiped his lips, stared at my hands, and grumbled incoherently.
"You're un poco de mierda."
"I want her to know that she is so much more than just a girl who can please me sexually."
"If I were you, I'd take the sex."
"Men like you make women fear the world. Never take advantage of somebody.
"Why not? They're in the red; why not take it?"
"You are a piece of trash."
"So are you. Don't forget you blow the brains of men, to take their money. And don't forget about the men who cried and implored you, as if you were their god."
"I killed for money, which is not the same as exploiting a girl who has no control over her circumstances." I elaborate to the fool who sat in front of my automobile. I genuinely don't remember why we were soul friends.
"Are you certain about that?"
"Do not dispute what I've done."
"Whether you like it or not, Val. We're the same. We're like lions, huh? We hunt to kill and wipe out."
"I will say it again: taking advantage of a female..."
"I've got you; but whatever you do, you'll go to hell."
"I understand." But I was pleased to know that my one nice act was being directed to someone who truly deserved it. I genuinely want to assist Lucia.
"This talk is becoming mushy." I eased my grip on the steering wheel. Where do we go next?"
"We have a few places to hit over the border. And let's hope we don't run across the Martinez gang; I understand their skepticism."
"We will go directly to them before we do anything else." I gritted.
"What! Are you mental?"
I smirked. "We're going to prove how innocent we are. And if they inquire anything about Lucia, we keep it calm."
"Not a smart idea; let's wait until it cools off. His death is hot, like two days ago?"
"I don't care, reaper. They are unable to touch us. We all know they are paper tigers, and if they want their little gang to be up and running, they must continue to pay their taxes."
