The knight nursery

The meeting with Marjorie about what had happened And an encounter with Carly

I arrived at the nursery and headed straight to the office.  Carly spotted me on her way out of the building "hey Char everything ok? You look stressed" "oh hey Carly yeah, I'm ok just need to see Marjorie about something before I head home", Carly looked at me and something was off again my mother's intuition kicked in.  Carly was wearing gym clothes "Carly is everything ok with you" I asked Carly's body language changed at that point I knew something was wrong. It had been a while since I had had a chance to catch up with her, Carly looked at me and then automatically looked at her feet "Carly?" I pried again.  Carly remained looking at her feet she wouldn't look at me "right Carly here are my car keys go and sit in my car, and we will have a chat when I've spoken to Marjorie". Carly was about to argue back "but char" I interrupted her "Carly please take my keys and wait in my car you don't need to worry about missing your bus I will give you a lift home" I stood with my hand outstretched trying to give her my keys.  Carly eventually took them from my hand "oh and Carly" I shouted after her as she turned to leave "there is some popcorn in the back seat help yourself" I had learned that popcorn was one of Carly's comfort foods from our previous chats, from the look on Carly's face I instantly knew she had been restricting her food again.  Carly turned and walked over to my car going into the back seat first to grab the popcorn as I watched her get in the car.  I gave a huge sigh as turned and walked into the building as I approached Marjorie's office my heart started to race; I could hear Marjorie on the phone "no Siobhan I have no idea what has happened today I'm currently waiting for charlotte to arrive" as I approached the office door, I could see the frustration in Marjorie's face "look Siobhan I've got to go someone's just come in the door"  and with that Marjorie put the phone down "char please tell me what the hell has gone off over at the sister nursery today" "erm you may want to sit down for this" I replied.  I waited for Marjorie to sit down before I explained thee events of the day as I came to the end of my tale "oh my good god poor Bethany" was all Marjorie could say I then gave Marjorie the incident report along with the complaint from Bethany's parents,  Marjorie read them over and gave me the confirmation that I had done the right thing in not handing them to Siobhan, "I will deal with this and send these to head office myself, please tell me this is going to have a good ending char?" I looked at Marjorie and a smirk appeared on my face "oh it is here you go" I handed Marjorie the transfer papers for Bethany "char you really do care about all the children don't you" Marjorie blubbed at me starting to well up "you've only spent one day over at Siobhan's nursery and you've already found a major issue over there, then gone on to transfer a child to our nursery so they can be happy again and be able to thrive in their own time" I could feel myself welling up at this point and beaming with pride in myself.  The concern over Carly then came back to the forefront of my mind with what Marjorie said about caring about the children.  I waited for Marjorie to come back from the bathroom she had to go and compose herself because she had started to cry, while I was waiting, I looked out to the car park over to my car I could see Carly had her head in her hands and I kept thinking to myself something is definitely wrong.   Marjorie came back into the office "Marjorie can I ask you something" I asked "ask away my love" "how has Carly been?" Marjorie had to think for a few seconds "being honest char she doesn't seem herself she seems withdrawn" I thank Marjorie as I turn to leave it comes to me to ask, "have there been any incidents with Carly recently?" "nothing that has been reported to me char my love, Carly was her normal bubbly self this morning and then all of a sudden it was as if something changed in her" "thank you Marjorie I will get to the bottom of this" I turn to leave the building to head out to my car, as I walk across the car park I see Carly look out of the window and the she suddenly starts to cry.  I pick up my pace to get to my car quickly.  I open the passenger car door and instantly pull Carly into a hug, I didn't know what was going on in her head but I knew she needed a hug over anything else right now, I can feel Carly instantly untense and she hugged me back, when Carly had finished crying we both got into the car "Carly help yourself to some more popcorn,  I'm just going to drive out of the car park and find somewhere to pull up and then me and you are going to have a chat is that ok?" Carly nodded in response.
