Over the coming months some big changes happened, Maddison left for a job with bigger opportunities, Marjorie and Autumn were away most days at the other nurseries trying to get them up to standard with the knight nursery and the sister nursery.  One particular day Majorie had interviews for Maddison's replacement, and she allowed me to sit in on thee interviews "thank you for letting me sit in on the interview process today Marjorie but where's Autumn" I asked "oh I told her that our sister nursery in Scotland needed whipping into shape, so she's on her way there now" confused about the answer "but we don't have a sister nursery in Scotland" "uh huh anyway these are all interviews that have been approved by head office so lets begin shall we?" after 10 minutes the first candidate arrived the first interviewee gave myself and Marjorie a horrible feeling she admitted she learnt everything she knew about children though observation, Marjorie questioned if she was on a placement or uni her response was what concerned us most "no I like sitting in parks and watching children" I had my own question "as in your own children?" "No other peoples" she responded Marjorie was the next to speak "as in friends and family members?" "no its not just parks I like to go to soft plays and stand outside schools" I was beginning to become more concerned as I looked over at Marjorie I could tell she was too Marjorie ended the interview there "right well ok it was nice to meet you charlotte here is going to escort you off the premises, er char at least 100 yards out of the gate please" "yeah sure no problem" I responded I was on the same page as Marjorie she needed to be as far away from the building as possible. Next was a gentleman which Marjorie instantly trying to flirt with "sooo tell me about yourself" he gave her a smoldering look in response to her dazed look "what would you like to know" I interrupted this time "um do you have any experience in childcare?" "no" he responded Marjorie trying to flirt "oh that's ok we can teach you" "bet you could teach me a thing or two" he was flirting back with Marjorie, Marjorie let out the most bashful laugh she could, I was starting to get frustrated "so did you apply for the role, because you have a passion for childcare?" I tried to interject the pairs flirting session as we were there for formal reasons still flirting with Marjorie the gentleman responds "I have a passion for making children" I felt so grossed out by that response all Marjorie could do was laugh awkwardly.  I let out a sigh "the days are quite long the first shift starts at 7:15" the gentleman hisses at me before responding "ah see that doesn't really work for me, hows 11:30 sound breakfast first" he winked at Marjorie while she let out another awkward laugh "I know a place down the street" I was still completely grossed out when I spotted something "oh lovely ring, are you married?" "Oh um" he responded, and this seemed to bring Marjorie to her senses as she looked at his left hand "I mean technically its just a bit of paper right" Marjorie now in full control of herself "bye" and with that she turned towards her computer.

We had a short break before the next candidate I took the time to go and make myself and Marjorie a coffee and Marjorie took the time to get herself under control, as I approached the office I could hear Marjorie groaning "here you go Marjorie everything ok" I asked "yeah char it just feels like we aren't going to find the right person" Marjorie replied "have faith you never know the next person to walk in could be the right person" how wrong was I the next 3 candidates had no experience and one even asked about random drug testing it wasn't until the final person of the day we found who we were looking for a gentleman walked in with black hair and moustache, as the interview process went on "truthfully you do seem a little bit over qualified for this position it says here you was a deputy manager at your old setting" the polite gentleman replies to Marjorie "oh yes that's right but um I was always doing admin and being stuck in the office I missed the interaction with the children its where all the action is and where you can do the most teaching of the next generation" "oh" Marjorie said looking at me "and your training its er completely up to date and its very extensive" "in preparation for the interview today I did a refresher of all of them including the pediatric first aid" "very efficient" I said to marjorie "it says here you got a medal from the mayor because of your outstanding contributions to the nursery to take it from indicate to outstanding" I couldn't believe my ears at this point "ah yes it took a lot of work but er after 4 years we got outstanding and stayed at that rating for a further 2 more Ofsted inspections after that" marjorie was surprised "well I don't think there is anything else we need to cover welcome on board" I smiled "absolutely" the gentleman replied "fantastic well one thing I will say before I go I don't tolerate bullies so if there is anyone like that here we'd probably but heads" marjorie looked at me before I responded "erm I can't think of anyone off the top of my head" "mmm hmm" marjorie agreed without speaking "great well I cannot wait to start it was lovely to meet you both" "you too" marjorie responded "oh wait a minute I'm so sorry I didn't catch your name" "oh I'm so sorry erm I'm winter" and with that winter left .
