The arrival of the piranha and the mean red head

A few months had passed since me and Gareth had separated and it was still a best kept secret from everyone at the nursery I got up for work and dropped the girls at my parents house so they could drop them at school.  It was hard adjusting to the new routine but me and my girls made it work my parents dropped the girls at school and then collected them at the end of the day and brought them home.

The time had come and it was Siobhan's last day everyone at the knight nursery was excited especially Marjorie as I made my way to work I hyped myself up to put on my big girl pants and slap on my best game face as I arrived at the nursery I headed straight to the office to sign in for my shift "morning Marjorie morning autumn" Marjorie looked at me with the biggest smile on her face "todays the day!" She exclaimed at me I sighed and answered back "todays the day Siobhan's last day.  What do we know about her replacement?" Marjorie's face dropped "well all I know is they are called the piranha Siobhan didn't give much more information" we all contemplated and then we were all brought back to our senses by the sound of the doorbell "I'll get that" I replied I headed out to the front door there was a delivery driver holding a bouquet of flowers I took them and headed back to the office "erm Marjorie these are for you" Marjorie looked up at me and responded who on earth is sending me flowers" I glanced at the flowers "oh it looks like there's a little card in there as well" Marjorie put the flowers on her desk and took out the card before reading it out loud so myself and autumn could hear "Marjorie I'm very much looking forward to working with you in the future I'm on my way over now I hope you like the flowers they are a symbol of our future working relationship signed the piranha" Marjorie looked at the flowers and then back at me and autumn I responded "considering her nickname and the fact she sent flowers maybe she isn't so bad" Marjorie looked at me "except if this is ment to be a symbol of our working relationship  why are half of the flowers dead" this peeked autumns interest but she didn't say anything I replied "you know what it's like ordering on line you never know what your going to get maybe they didn't know the flowers would be half dead" autumn turned back to her computer sighing Marjorie noticed this "your quiet" autumn took a deep breath before she spoke "it's not a coincidence that those flowers are half dead it's how they work" "w what how do you know this how who works that way" was all Marjorie could splutter out before there was a knock at the door "knock knock hello Marjorie nice to see you've received my flowers sorry they are half dead I just prefer them that way" Marjorie looked back at the man standing in the doorway a smirk on his face glancing over to autumn "lil sis" I looked between the man and autumn confused before autumn replied "big brother" and returning to her work Marjorie found her voice again "im sorry big brother did you know all along" autumn looked back at Marjorie "I had a hunch and those flowers just confirmed it before he arrived"

Little did we know that it was actually someone else who had sent those flowers after years of blackmail

Through flirty phone calls between Marjorie and the piranha we eventually found out his name after he had made a joke saying he was called spring, his name was Reece. 

Reece had been working at the sister nursery for a few weeks and had fired the majority of his staff so myself and Carly were having to cover over there a lot the owner had had enough of Reece dragging his heels hiring more staff so he took it upon himself to hire a new deputy manager for Reece's nursery a meeting was called at head office involving Roger Reece and Marjorie, Marjorie and Reece arrived and roger had already began to biratte Reece making a remark saying he was still a disappointment much like when he was as a child.  Reece spoke and asked who the new hire was "well that's why I've brought you both here today Reece your already acquainted with them so this is just and opportunity for Marjorie to meet her" Reece's face dropped "dad who have you hired" Roger began to look uncomfortable "dad who is it" "it's er erm" roger began to stutter "dad" Reece quizzed "well it's erm Mia" "seriously dad you hired Mia she was fired from her last job" "nothing ever came of that and she was free so I hired her seen as you was dragging your heels" a notification came through on Roger's phone he looked and then announced that she was here Reece wasn't impressed "sorry Reece but who is Mia to you" Marjorie asked before Reece had a change to respond "I'm Reeceys ex girlfriend" the red head replied "and who exactly are you to Reece" Mia looked between Reece and Marjorie Reece responded before Marjorie had a chance to "put your claws away Mia she's just a colleague" Reece now looking at Roger "dad outside" Reece and Roger got up to leave the conference room as Mia took a seat directly across from Marjorie staring into her soul"oh wow I'd of thought reecey would be a lot further with you than this by now given how much he talked about you" Marjorie huffed "funny how he's never even mentioned you, your relationship must have been such a disappointing time for him" Mia began to smirk "oh dear a little jealous are we Marjorie" Marjorie stood her ground "what is there to be jealous of if there ever was anything meaningful between you to he would of mentioned you" Mia now began to laugh "oh and here I was thinking I'd walk in and you two would be in the honeymoon phrase honestly Marjorie do you know how hard it is to compete with a woman that your boyfriend is falling for before he's even met her" Marjorie looked Mia up and down "I'd say it looked like the competition was pretty poor" Mia began to droan on "all those years spent listening to his dad Siobhan urgh his sister Marjorie did this Marjorie did that in the end I'd hear your name and feel physically sick to the point bile would rise in my throat" Marjorie quick of the mark "I'd say your name has the same affect except Reece had never mentioned you" Mia laughed "well then how lucky that he and I will be working together all day everyday and I can finally get an up close and personal look at the woman that he dumped me for" Marjorie's eyes grew wide at that last comment Marjorie thought to herself how strange that behavior was it was almost stalkerish.  Marjorie got up and walked out she had no need to be there anymore as she walked into the hall she bumped into Reece "er Marjorie I" Marjorie stopped Reece in his tracks "right hold up there right I've just had to sit and listen to your ex tell me how you fell in love with me years ago about how you dumped her for me ok about how you only wanted to work at the nurseries to get closer to me ok call me crazy but I'm pretty sure that's creepy" Reece sighed "I was out of the room for 3 minutes" Marjorie jumped straight back in with her rant "so you don't deny any of it?" Reece now getting frustrated "you think I fell in love with you tried to get close to you and dumped my girlfriend all before I'd even met you" Marjorie shrugged her shoulders at the question "did you?" Reece let a small groan out "Marjorie there's a word for someone like that it's called a stalker" Marjorie looked Reece up and down "yeah, I know" the two shared a confused look before Reece began to speak again "er right we obviously need to clear a few things up here" "mm hmm" Marjorie now crossed her arms over her chest as Reece carried on talking "first yes I did ask my dad for a job at the nursery and nooo it wasn't to get close to you" Marjorie more confused than she was before "if it wasn't to get close to me then why were you so eager to work there?"

"Hmm let's think who works at the nursery that I have a pretty rocky relationship with that I would have the best possible chance of repairing said relationship if I worked a little more closely with them" "Autumn" realisation hitting Marjorie like a ton of bricks "mm hmm and Mia and my sister don't have the best of history that putting it lightly so I ended things with her before I came back so she wasn't around when I was trying to patch things up with autumn" Marjorie was lost for words "ooh" "mmm hmm" Reece responded as Marjorie began to speak again "well then why does Mia seem to think you're in love with me and you have been for years" Marjorie questioned Reece grabbed the bridge of his nose in frustration "ugh a few years back we were at a mandatory family dinner and autumn was telling us about how you'd handled a much older parent hitting on a sassy as I know now was Carly and I was really impressed and said something to the effect of Marjorie sounds great which ignited Mia's jealousy" Marjorie looked at Reece now with a burning question "well why is Mia so jealous I mean what's happened to make her like that?" Reece shook his head and shrugged his shoulders "she's always been like it ever since we were in school always jealous of how close me and autumn were growing up trying to come between us" the pair looked at each other for a few seconds before Marjorie spoke "right now we've got all that cleared up I best head back to the nursery and let you three carry on your meeting"  Marjorie walked off and headed out to her car and drove back to the knight nursery filling autumn in on the whole meeting when she arrived.
