Hashira Meeting

After Mitsuri and Muichiro woke up the Hashiras were summoned for a meeting.

"Good morning everyone. As oyakata-sama's condition has worsened, today's meeting will be held by me." Amane-sama said as she entered the room followed by the twins.

"We pray for him to find strength again. Please stay strong amane-sama." Gyomei spoke as all the Hashiras bowed down.

"Thank you... So as I have learnt, after the fight with Upper Moons, three of our Hashiras have awakened their Demon Slayer marks right?"

"Demon Slayer mark? What is that amane-sama?"

"During the Sengoku period, the swordsmen who had driven Muzan to the brink of death, the very first generation of swordsmen, had unlocked a mark which was very similar to demonic patterns. The marks is related to the type of breathing the slayer uses."

"Why have we never heard of it before then amane-sama?"

"Most of the swordsmen were brooded over not having the mark appear. Thus much of the lore surrounding the mark appears vague. Perhaps at that time it was not seen as vital enough to preserve or perhaps there was no one to pass it on. Since there were also many times the demon slayer corps was almost annihilated, there is only a single record of the mark remaining today. "

"It is mentioned by one of the first breathing swordsmen in his personal notes that 'when one person bearing the mark appears, thake around him also manifest the marks as if resonating with him'."

"The first person of our generation to have the mark appear is Kamado Tanjiro even though he's not a Hashira. However he's unable to explain how exactly he got it or what he felt like when he did. That's why, i would like to request Yuzuki, Mitsuri and Muichiro to share your experiences while getting the mark."

"U-uh i remember that my body felt extremely light. And then i felt my body go 'Bam!' and then 'Pow!' . My heart was beating like crazy! And my ears were going 'Ding!'. Then 'Ripple! Ripple! Ripple!'."

Mitsuri tried to explain but Amane-sama and the Hashiras excluding Sanemi could only sweatdrop whereas the wind Hashira scowled at her.

"I'm so sorry- I wish I could crawl into a hole now!" The love Hashira said as she bowed down being embarassed.

"For me, i myself wasn't aware of the mark. But looking back, many things felt out of ordinary in that battle. I was highly poisoned and unable to move. I was trying to slow the flow of poison using my breathing technique. But then the boy who tried to save me was about to be killed and that's when memories from my past came back. The overwhelming rage I felt, made me loose control over my emotions. I believe my heart rate had exceeded and my temperature was also high. When I was brought into the butterfly estate, I was having fever. "

Muichiro said ever so calmly making everyone nod.

"Yuzuki? What was your experience?"

"I hadn't noticed it until Tomioka-san mentioned it. But i believe that we get the mark when being in stressful situations. I don't know about the heart rate or the body temperature,but I had felt my neck and face burning, so I suppose it was at that time when the mark appeared." The moon Hashira replied thinking back to the fight. She decided to not tell them about the soft voice she had been hearing ever since her fight with Muzan.

"Ok. Thank you everyone for your explanations."

"Don't worry amane-sama. We'll figure out a way to unlock the marks. Please tell oyakata-sama not to worry as well."

"Very well. However, i would like to tell you something about this mark-training. This helps the slayer to attain their maximum strength resulting in better and fast movements. However, those who have attained the mark, are most likely to not survive after the age of 25." Amake sama informed before bowing once again as she left the room.
