The Chosen One

The attack

The training was going on as usual. The Hashiras were training the younger slayers during the day and practicing among themselves during the night.

Shinobu and Tamayo had finally succeeded in creating the medicine to turn demons back into humans.

The Hashiras were in the training grounds. Sanemi and Obanai were sent on night patrolling duties. Shinobu and Tamayo were trying the medicine on Nezuko. Gyomei was also not present.

So the only Hashiras present in the field that day were Giyu, Rengoku, Muichiro, Mitsuri, Yuzuki. Uzui didn't take a part in the practice as he had retired. He used to come and watch them practice but today he hadn't come.

Muichiro was up against Giyu. The duel was getting intense. The mist and water breathing forms were blending in with each other pretty perfectly.

Tanjiro, who had finally completed his training with all the Hashiras, had come to the training grounds to watch the Hashiras practice. He was awestruck seeing their movements.

The duel ended with both the hashiras breaking their swords. This everyday training had helped all of them improve but they had still not gotten their Demon Slayer marks. Even the marks of the three hashiras who had unlocked it already, didn't appear again.

Yuzuki often wondered who was the woman who had guided her during the fights with Muzan and Upper Moon 1? But even that voice didn't seem to appear again.

"Kamado my boy! I heard you've mastered the sun breathing? Come, let's have a duel!"

The flame hashira exclaimed as he took Tanjiro to the centre of the field.

'Flame breathing vs Sun breathing? This is gonna be interesting.' Yuzuki thought to herself as she sat upright.

"CAWWWW! CAWWWW! EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY! THE UBUYASHIKI ESTATE IS UNDER ATTACK!" Everyone's eyes snapped open wide as they heard the crows' announcement.

'Oyakata-sama!!' It was the only thought in everyone's mind as they dashed towards the estate.

The Ubuyashiki estate was surrounded by forests on all sides. As they were on their way, Sanemi, Obanai, Shinobu had also joined them.

Just as the slayers were about to reach, the estate blew up. The blast was so strong that they had to cover their eyes. In front of them, the Ubuyashiki estate was burning in flames.

'NO! OYAKATA-SAMA!'  it seemed like everyone shouted in their minds but they couldn't manage to get a word out of their throats.

They could see the explosives. Oyakata-sama had sacrificed himself.

The flames had cleared up a bit and they could a man standing at the centre with thorns passing through his entire body which held him in place. Tamayo's wrist was impaled in his stomach.

"Kibutsuji Muzan....." Everyone's eyes widened when they heard the words coming out of Yuzuki's mouth.

"That's him?!"

"HIMEJIMA-SAN!! ATTACK NOW PLEASE!!" The voice of Tamayo made the slayers snap their heads towards the tall man who had appeared behind Muzan.

"In the next five days, Muzan will come. Use me as a bait and cut off muzan's head. The other children won't agree on using me as a bait. You are the only one that i can ask Gyomei..."

Oyakata-sama's words ran through his head as tears streamed down from Gyomei's eyes.

"Namu Amida Butsu!!" With that, the spiked ball of Gyomei split open Muzan's head.

"Although, the only thing that can destroy Muzan is probably the Sun. If he doesn't die even after you behead him, y'all are in for an all out battle until sunrise."

'Just as the master has predicted, this monster won't die even if you behead him!!' Gyomei thought as Muzan's head regenerated and he turned his face to glare at the Stone Hashira.

"Black blood, Brambles" Muzan sent his whips towards the Stone Hashira which he managed to cut through using the third form of stone breathing.

"What the hell did you do to oyakata-sama?!" Sanemi's voice boomed through the entire place.

"IT'S KIBUTSUJI MUZAN! HE WON'T DIE EVEN IF YOU BEHEAD HIM!" Gyomei shouted as he pointed his axe towards the mentioned demon.

Everyone's eyes were fixed on the demon in front of them when Muzan's eyes landed in Yuzuki.

"The Moon Hashira again huh? I would like to have an all out battle with you this time." The demon sent a smirk at her, making the veins in her forehead bulge from annoyance.

Everyone was shocked to hear the words coming out of muzan's mouth. What did he mean by that? Has Yuzuki met him before? Why didn't she tell them anything about it?

"I'll make you regret your life decisions Kibutsuji Muzan. Tonight, will be the end of you." Yuzuki said as her eyes darkened and her demon slayer mark reappeared. Muzan's eyes widened in annoyance seeing the mark.

"Moon breathing, seventh form, mirror of misfortune, moonlit." The moon Hashira leapt up performing a frontal crescent shaped slash.

"Mist breathing, fourth form"

"Insect breathing, butterfly dance"

"Serpent breathing, first form"

"Love breathing, fifth form"

"Water breathing, third form"

"Wind breathing, seventh form"

"Hinokami Kagura, sunflower thrust"

All the slayers attacked Muzan but before any of them could land a hit, a strum of biwa was heard and all of them were transported into a different place. They all fell through something which looked like doors before they could react. The place had endless wooden doors, halls, corridors and what not.

Inosuke, Genya, Zenitsu, Kanao along with other lower slayers were also transported to the same place.

Tanjiro landed in front of Muzan who still had Tamayo's wrist impaled through his stomach and thorns passing through different parts of his body.

"You think you have cornered me huh? You all are about to go to hell! You filthy demon slayers. Tonight I'm going to massacre every one of you!" Muzan spoke as he held the psychotic smile on his face.

"You're the one going to hell Muzan! You're not getting away! Not anymore!" Another strum of if biwa was heard and Tanjiro once again fell through the door type of thing.

"Let's see you do it then Kamado Tanjiro!"

"I'LL ABSOLUTELY DEFEAT YOU KIBUTSUJI MUZAN!"
