3rd person POV

The loud rain hits the roof, it was so clear. The thunder was loud and not a single person dares to go outside. Inside the quiet home where only the sound of rain could be heard, two lovers loud bickering could be heard from across the street.

“Tangina Alice! Sinabi mo ako lang, sino yung nakita ko sa cellphone mo?!” Risa yells loudly.

“Risa...please it's not what you think, if you just let me ex-” Alice was cut off.

“Explain?! Ano pa ba ang dapat mo iexplain?! Ha?! Alice, ipagpalit mo na lang ako kahit sa pusa pero sa lalaki pa talaga?” Her voice was now a crack, the lump in her throat was painful. She wants to cry, oh God she wants to let it all out.

“Risa... No he's just-” Alice sighs. “Wala kami ni Calugay he's just my friend please-”

“Tangina Alice, napaka special naman ng kaibigan mong yan.”

“Risa, please listen to me...” she says softly.

But Risa was blinded by rage, she was tired of all the lies that was coming out of Alice's mouth. She was tired of being played, she loved her truly and this is the exchange she gets? She wants to yell, she wants to get mad and let it all out in front of Alice but there's always that doubt and soft spot that never goes away.

“Get out.” two words that she barely managed to let out.

“H-ha?... Risa an-”

“Alice.” she look up straight to stare at her. “Get out of my house.” she huffs out.

Tears were flowing down Alice's eyes. Even though Risa hates to see her like this, this must be done.

“I don't want to see you ever again.”

The last words Alice remembered before leaving. She still remembers how loud the door slammed shut, how the rain soaked her and how loud the thunder was.

How painful it is to love someone who lives with doubt?...

They never thought they would cross paths once again, all they wanted was to move on from each other. To move on is such an understatement.

Bruises that never heal. Alice never cheated, she never did. This guy she was texting was a friend it was the truth but she didn't want to explain further if Risa was deaf to her explanations.

Yet, here they are — sitting across from eachother in the Senate hearing. When their paths crossed once again it's like a bolt of lightning struck them both. The same spark was still there, the same hefty feeling in their chests was still there. It was just a split second of eye-contact before Risa goes back to doing her papers.

Alice studied her, she always admired her. Now seeing her after all these years feels the same. Nothing has changed about you mahal... She thinks to herself before reality slapped her once again.

“Mayor Alice.”

“Senator Risa.”

Deep inside their hearts were leaping out of their chests. Saying their names now felt different. Nothing has changed, they are still used to the old times when they were together. Now that Alice is being alleged of something very serious, Risa has to be a professional. None of them showed what they truly want to say.
