I sat in my office, looking through my papers one by one. Being a senator isn't easy for someone like me. You had to have courage to do something like this. But I love my country, I'd do anything by any means. Before, I was living a carefree life. A single mom who works in the Senate sounds pretty cool, right?
I was never really fond of relationships after my marriage. I always thought I'd burden my lover knowing my past. I've had many suitors before but I never really paid attention to them. I guess I never feel such a connection as they tell me. I always thought that maybe I was just hard to love— that finding love was hard for me.
While in deep thought I didn't notice that my office door was open. My eyes darted towards whoever opened it. Oh, Sherwin.
“Good morning” He smiles warmly.
I know he has feelings for me, he himself admitted it once while we were drinking. I keep on finding ways to reject or ignore him. I guess he just doesn't get the signs.
“Oh hi, good morning” My eyes went back to doing my papers.
“Uhm, I bought you breakfast? Hehe”
I nod my head, still doing my papers.
“...Wala ba akong thank you?” He laughs awkwardly.
“thank you win, I really appreciate it. I'm just not really in the mood for eating.”
“Oh I understand. I'll go now.”
When he left, ako na yata yung nahiya para sakanya eh. For years I had been wondering when I'll find my true love. Trust me I've encountered a lot of men before but none of them made my heart beat fast. I think my mere purpose here was to work. Well, that's what I always thought.

I guess my only reason for going is because I'm curious to meet the mayors they were talking about. I'm most curious about the mayor from bamban tarlac. I've heard many good things but I never really met her in person. I visited bamban once, the place is beautiful I'm going to guess she loves pink.
