Chapter VI: Temporary Reunion

<7:44 PM, Seas Near Azur Lane>

Unicorn’s ship was sailing ahead to Azur Lane territory, not having encountered anything on her way there. Adler and Unicorn were relaying information to each other via radio.

Adler: “We should be nearing Azur Lane territory by now, any ships on the radar?”
           Unicorn: “I can’t spot any ship both visually and by radar. The E-2D I sent up also hasn’t found anything yet”
Adler: “It seems to be going quite smoothly right now. I’m also not detecting any Siren portals being created or existing in this area”
           Unicorn: “I’ll contact Azur Lane when we are close enough”
Adler: “You do that, I’ll sneak onto your ship when you do”
           Unicorn: “Alright then”

Unicorn’s ship continued sailing uninterrupted, Adler following in the depths of the Interdimensional sea.

<10:23 AM, Azur Lane Seas>

Unicorn was already inside the radio contact range of Azur Lane, so she did contact them.

Unicorn: “This is HMS Unicorn of the… Royal Navy, contacting Pearl Harbor HQ, is anyone there?”

Soon someone did answer her.

???: “Unicorn?! You’re still alive?! Where are you?”
        Unicorn: “I’m currently around 7 kilometers away from base, in the southeast direction”
???: “We have a patrol fleet near you, we will be sending them there. Illustrious is also part of the patrol fleet”
         Unicorn: “Oh, thank you, Commander Lily”
Cmdr. Lily: “When you’re back at base, I want you to tell me about what happened during your custody at Iron Blood”
                   Unicorn: “Ah… okay Commander”

The radio transmission ended as Unicorn sat down. Beside her was Adler.

Adler: “So, what will you tell them?”
           Unicorn: “I feel like anything I tell them will make the Azur Lane aggravated against Iron Blood”
Adler: “I see where you’re coming from, but you’ll need to make one up”
           Unicorn: “Hey Adler, would it be fine if I tainted your honor and Iron Blood’s honor?”
Adler: “What do you mean by that?”
           Unicorn: “I feel like the best choice here is to tell them I was imprisoned and forced to act under Iron Blood, that I said I was KMS Unicorn that time because you were nearby and forced me to say that. Maybe I should tell them that I was threatened to spill some information about Azur Lane. They might not believe I wasn’t interrogated”
Adler: “I’m fine with it, but what information would that be?”
           Unicorn: “Ah right, I haven’t told any of you. I suppose I should tell you now, you’ll probably listen to my conversation with the commander”
Adler: “So, what is it?”
           Unicorn: “I believe the Eagle Union is focusing on creating a Decisive Battleship. I believe they called her Iowa”
Adler: “Iowa, hmm?”

Adler bore knowledge of modern technology so he knew about the existence of the destructive Iowa-class ships.

Adler: “That will pose a problem for Iron Blood and our peace plan. If you don’t mind, I’ll need to do something about it”
           Unicorn: “I don’t mind, but please don’t prematurely kill her”
Adler: “I won’t. I’ll be going now. Also, I recommend tearing up your clothes slightly to make it more believable that you were imprisoned”

Adler suddenly disappeared, this was his ability in his submarine form. Unicorn followed Adler’s advice and slightly teared up her clothes. A while later, the Azur Lane patrol fleet could be seen. It comprised a carrier, a battleship, and some smaller vessels.
They soon were moving alongside Unicorn. One of those shipgirls, Illustrious, decided to jump onto Unicorn’s ship. She got to the bridge where Unicorn was. She opened the door and immediately hugged Unicorn at first sight.
