Jin had just spoken with Taehyung, who said their grandfather wasn't worried about finding him, believing he'd return due to his studies and brothers. Their grandfather also thought Jin couldn't manage without money since his accounts were deactivated. Jimin also mentioned that Yoongi is still hung up on his ex, Hoseok. This gave Jin hope the wedding might not happen when he returns.
Later that night, Jungkook came home drenched from the rain, changed into dry clothes, and collapsed on the couch. Exhausted but unable to stop thinking about Jin, he reluctantly got up and checked on him. Finding Jin asleep with a blanket on the floor, Jungkook quietly covered him and murmured, "I don't know what's going on with me." He then turned off the TV and went to sleep.
The next morning, Jin was surprised to find Jungkook still asleep at home. Since they weren't on the best terms, Jin decided to leave him alone while he made breakfast. After eating and preparing lunch, Jin saw Jungkook still on the couch and wondered if he was just pretending to sleep.
"Hey, Mr. Drowsy... aren't you going to eat? It's almost lunchtime," Jin said. When Jungkook didn't respond, Jin shrugged and was about to walk away when he heard a soft whimper.
"What's wrong?" Jin asked, poking Jungkook's stomach. When he didn't respond, Jin shook his shoulder and felt how hot he was. "Oh no, you're burning up," Jin said, worried. He quickly gave Jungkook a sponge bath.
After changing his sweat-soaked clothes, Jin struggled to move him to the bedroom. He made soup, tried to feed Jungkook, and gave him medication. By nightfall, Jungkook's fever was still fluctuating, and he was shivering. Not knowing what else to do, Jin did what he had always wanted Taehyung would do for him when he was sick: covered him with a blanket, lay down next to him, and held him close until he fell asleep.
[The following day...]
Groggy, Jungkook tried to move but felt a heavy weight on him. He opened his eyes and saw Jin sprawled on him, head on his chest, arm around his waist, and leg draped over him. Jungkook tried to shift Jin but only made him hold tighter. When Jin's leg shifted and touched his morning erection, he groaned softly, waking Jin.
"You're awake!" Jin pulled away and touched his forehead. "You seem okay now. How are you feeling? You were burning up pretty badly last night—I thought you were going to die," he said, not realizing how dramatic he sounded.
Jungkook couldn't help but chuckle.
"What's so funny? I honestly thought you might not make it. I wasn't sure what to do, and bringing you to bed was a real struggle. I had to nearly drag you here; it was exhausting."
"Okay, okay. Thanks for saving my life. Happy now?"
"There's no need to be sarcastic. I was just letting you know what happened and if you're genuinely grateful, just be nice and come home earlier. Your place is really creepy during power outages at night."
Jungkook just lay there staring at Jin and realized how comfortable Jin got with him without even realizing.
Jin snapped his fingers in front of him, "Hello!? Are you listening? I said I'm making brunch, what do you want?"
"I just want coffee," Jungkook said, trying to sit up in bed. Jin quickly moved to stop him.
"Just wait here. I'll make it," Jin said, pressing a hand gently on Jungkook's shoulder.
"No, I'm fine. I can handle it," Jungkook replied, trying to get up again. Jin, determined to keep him in bed, used his body weight to push him back.
Jungkook, unexpectedly off balance, stumbled backward and reached out instinctively for support. His hands landed on Jin's shoulders, pulling him down as well. They both ended up falling back onto the bed, with Jungkook now lying beneath Jin.
