Jungkook was in the passenger seat, his eyes fixed on his phone ever since they left the pub. When a notification popped up, he checked it quickly, a smile creeping onto his face—one he didn't even try to hide.
07:49 AM
Jin:
Don't forget to come home early.
Where are you?07:50 AM
Jungkook:
I just left you like 15 minutes ago. Stop being such a baby.07:56 AM
Jin:
It's been more than 30 minutes. Just come home early, okay? You promised.07:58 AM
Jungkook:
Okay. If you're hungry, just heat up the sandwiches and Bulgogi.08: 11 AM
Jungkook:

Seokjin08:34 AM
Jin:
Jungkook, I'm cleaning the house. Why are you calling me?
Is it okay to call you? You're with your staff, right?08:35 AM
Jungkook:
If you're busy or can't respond right away, just let me know, okay?08:37 AM
Jin:
Are you mad?08:38 AM
Jungkook:
Just tell me if you're doing something or if you're about to sleep, so I don't get all worri—, just let me know, okay?08:43 AM
Jin:
Whatever, Grumpzilla. You're so moody. Hurry up, okay? You're not driving, right? If you are, don't text me.08:45 AM
Jungkook:
Don't climb the ladder or do anything risky. You're too clumsy—you'll hurt yourself.
Gavin's driving, we'll be quick.08:48 AM
Jin:
Okay. Bye bye!•••••
[At the mall.]
"Boss, who are you buying those pink shirts for?"
"A little something for some people I know."
Gavin raised an eyebrow. "With those prints?" he replied, looking at the "Princess" and "Brat" labels.
"Don't worry about it. If they don't like them, they can give them away." Jungkook said, trying to sound casual.
Gavin just shrugged and glanced at the other stuff Jungkook had bought.

[Several hours later...]
Namjoon had just stepped out of the conference room when he told his secretary to call Taehyung and have him meet him in his office. But after making the call, Taehyung's assistant told Namjoon's secretary that Taehyung had left the office in the middle of his client meeting, looking worried.
Namjoon's face tightened. The only thing he could think of that would make Taehyung leave like that—especially during an important client meeting—was if something had happened with Jin.
He checked his phone, but there were no messages from Taehyung. With a sigh, he dialed his number. Taehyung picked up after just one ring.
"I can't talk long," Taehyung said quickly, his voice tense. "Jin might call any minute. He asked me to pick him up. I'll call you once I've got him." The line cut off before Namjoon could say anything.

[Earlier...]
Jin's heart pounded as he slumped to the floor. The envelope in his hands trembled—an envelope he had found tucked away in a small box inside Jungkook's closet while cleaning. Inside, there was an old, yellowing newspaper clipping of a car wreck. His stomach twisted. Along with that, he found photos of himself and his family, torn from well-known magazines, with all their faces crossed out in thick black ink. He could almost hear his heartbeat as he read the words written on them: "Killer," "This is the man who killed my family," "I'll make you all suffer."
