time skip: 2 weeks after Meera's wedding⌛
~ Retail therapy ~
Today's agenda: retail therapy! Meera Akka, Akarsh Bro, Rishi, and I were on a shopping spree, ready to conquer the mall. First stop, Gucci. Two gorgeous designer bags, one for me and one for Meera Akka, found their way into our happy hands. We then tackled the men's department, scoring some stylish threads for Rishi and Akarsh bro
Next, we ventured into another store, a treasure trove of clothes for women. Suddenly, Rishi piped up, "Hey Akka, how about you and Akarsh bro check out that section while Ishu and I browse over here?" He nudged me with his elbow, a silent message that I readily understood. Meera Akka and Akash Bhaiya, newlyweds still in the honeymoon phase, deserved some alone time.
Smiling, I echoed Rishi's suggestion. "Yeah, Meera Akka, what do you think?" A flicker of hesitation crossed her face, but ultimately she agreed. With a playful wink, I quickly wrapped my arms around Rishi's and whisked him away to the other side of the store, the shopping bag entrusted to his care.
As we wandered through the aisles, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. This shopping trip was not just about the items we would buy but also about creating memories and strengthening our bonds. Rishi and I exchanged knowing glances and chuckled at the idea of giving the newlyweds some much-needed privacy.
"Think they'll enjoy the alone time?" Rishi asked with a grin.
"Absolutely," I replied, scanning a rack of dresses. "They deserve it."
I chose a few outfits and then went to try them on while Rishi played the patient waiting role outside the room. I donned all the outfits and showed them to Rishi one after the other. Finally, I changed back into my outfit and came out of the trial room. Just as I was about to tell the lady to pack the outfit I liked best, Rishi interrupted and said, "We will be taking all of them," and took me away. The lady nodded and left.
I looked at Rishi and said, "You are being sus. What's going on?"
He just chuckled, held my shoulders, and said, "My dear overthinker... let your brain have a rest. I know you love reading mystery books. It's nothing, just enjoy your gift."
"I don't read just mystery " I muttered in a volume he could not hear. my brain flooded with the rom-com books I read till now.
He turned towards me and asked, "Did u say something."
I just replied "Nothing" and shook my negatively.
rishi is the best friend one could get, a gem of a guy. Maybe he was more than a friend sometimes. His gestures, his constant care, and the way he always seemed to understand me—there were moments when it felt like there was something more. As we walked out of the store, laden with shopping bags and laughter, I couldn't help but wonder if he felt the same way.
Maybe this shopping trip wasn't just about clothes after all. Perhaps it had revealed something new, a spark of something unexpected between Rishi and me. The day, filled with laughter, friendship, and a touch of newfound awareness, hinted at a future story waiting to be written, a story scrawled not on a price tag, but on the fabric of our hearts.

Your foolish writer—i.e., me—knows I'm terrible at keeping up with updates. I regret it a lot, but with exams around the corner, it's hard to find the time. I know my story can be cringey and silly, which is probably why many of you don't leave votes or comments. But trust me, if you hang in there, I'll do my best to bring you better chapters in the future.
If you do enjoy the story, please leave a vote or comment. It means a lot to me. Thank you so much for reading my book!
P.S. today is my birthday , so I will be giving a double update .... stay tuned.
