timeskip : A few months later... and as we moved through the chapters, Rishi and Isha too became older. They are in 12th grade now. Refer to chapter 26 if u have any doubts.

Isha's POV

Tringgg... "Finally, the bell rang to save my life. I was getting so bored," I muttered, turning to Maithri as we packed up our things. We met up with the rest of our friends in the hallway, where they'd just finished their classes too.

As we walked out, Daksh asked, "How's everyone preparing for the boards?"

I sighed dramatically, giving a defeated look. "I've literally given up. Physics and Chemistry are out to ruin me. I loved Chemistry in high school, but intermediate is something else."

Trish shrugged, "I started prepping months ago."

"Same here," Rishi added, giving her a nod.

Maithri chimed in, "I started a few weeks back."

Then, Daksh and Viraj exchanged guilty glances but covered them with proud and smiling faces and said in unison, "We'll start today."

I scoffed, "Seriously? You ask us how we're doing when you haven't even started, D!"

Trisha interrupted, "I'm hungry. Let's go grab something to eat."

Everyone agreed, and after searching for a nearby spot, we realized the best place was pretty far. It didn't make sense to take five cars. Just then, Daksh suggested, "I've been there before. We can take the metro. It's faster."

We bought our tickets and waited for the metro, which was already crowded by the time it arrived. There weren't any empty seats, so we stood in a circle, chatting as usual.

Out of nowhere, there was a sudden jerk, and I stumbled backward. Before I could even register what was happening, Rishi's arm caught me around my waist, steadying me. His touch sent sparks coursing through me. My head rested briefly against his chest, and his hand found mine, helping me grip the bar. His other arm still circled my waist protectively.

Our eyes met, locking for a moment longer than necessary. I could feel my heart racing. Just as we were about to look away, Maithri and Trisha took the opportunity to snap some photos of us, teasing, "Woohooo... finally!"

I shot them a sharp look that screamed Not here, you dummies! They shut up quickly, but Daksh and Viraj were also grinning at us, sharing the same teasing energy.

Flustered, I quickly straightened myself, and Rishi did the same, releasing his grip. This time, I made sure to hold onto that bar extra tight. We reached the restaurant, grabbed a bite, and hung out for a while before heading home.

Once I got back home, I quickly freshened up and decided to dive into my studies, with my 12th boards only two months away. I opened my Chemistry textbook, determined to make progress. But before I could even read the first line, a familiar orange and pink notification caught my attention on my phone screen.

I sighed, thinking, 'It's probably Trisha and Maithri posting something random about today  again. Ehhh light le. ' But curiosity got the better of me. 'elago app open chesamu kadha , adhedho choosi close chedhamu le.'

I opened Trisha's story and, to my horror, my eyes widened as I saw a picture of Rishi and me on the metro. The caption read:

"They are finally dating... congratulations @ishxshetyyy and @rishi.unfiltered 😁😁💐💐💐💐. I and @maithri.irl and @viraj.cantstop and @daksh.wontstop are heartfully happy for ya guys !!!"

I stared at my phone, my eyeballs practically popping out of their sockets. Relief washed over me momentarily when I realized it was a "Close Friends" story, but who even knew who Trisha had in her close friends' list?

I immediately called her up and shouted, "You idiot! Why the heck would you do that?"Before I could rant any further, my mom's voice rang out from behind the door, "Language, Isha!"I quickly covered, "Mumma, I said I didn't say anything bad."Trisha was having a great time giggling on the other end, and I  whispered, "You just got saved by my mom." Rolling my eyes, I responded, "Trish, seriously, what were you thinking?"

She laughed and explained, "Chill, dude! After you guys left, we played Truth or Dare on our way back home, and I got dared to do this. It was supposed to prank you. Glad to see it worked!"

I could barely process what she was saying. My mind was fixated on one important detail. "Wait... who's in your close friends list?!"

She hummed for a moment before replying, "Just you, Maithri, Daksh, Viraj, and last but not least... your boyfriend, Rishi."Her words made me blush deep red. I tried to play it cool. "Firstly he is not my guy and ,secondly are you sure no one else saw it?"

She laughed softly and said, "Isha, it was just a prank. I didn't mean to hurt you or Rishi. I swear, it's all in good fun."

I sighed, trying to calm my nerves. "It's fine on my end, but I'm not so sure about Rishi. I don't know how he's going to take this. You might as well call him."

With that, I hung up, still feeling the heat of the blush lingering on my cheeks, the word boyfriend echoing in my mind.
