Chapter 7: Lala Land

Juliet's POV

 "Juliet ''Insert-Middle-Name' Ramon! Get up man, we need to talk!"

I groaned as I heard someone attempting to wake me up. I groaned and shuffled around in my bed. It was obviously Cisco, I thought. I slowly opened my heavy eyelids and saw Cisco's face staring directly at mine. "Thank goodness you're awake. I wasn't planning on getting a cold bucket of water and having an ice bucket challenge moment!", Cisco said cheerfully. I shot up from my comfortable duvet and slowly turned to the edge of the bed to assure Cisco that I was indeed alive and functioning. Yet, as I stood on my feet, an unbearable pain shot through my head. I winced and started shaking my hands frantically, as if to lessen the pain. Cisco suddenly burst into a fit of laughter at my actions. As I held onto my throbbing head, I glared at Cisco and started swearing in French, causing his laugh to die down and his eyes to widen with fright. "Okay, judging by your dirty, racoon eyes and your bird's nest hair, the night went well!", Cisco said while raising his big thumbs at me. I ignored his crude comment and made my way to my en-suite bathroom. As I stared at my reflection in the mirror, I shuddered. I had mascasa and eyeliner residue surrounding my eyes and indeed, my head had a lovely ostrich nest on it. And to top it off, I still had my " slutty" dress on from yesterday. I shook my head slowly and made my way to the closet to get a fresh set of clothing. I glanced outside to take note of the weather. Ah yes, a cloudy day ahead! Much like my mood! I turned my attention back to my closet and grabbed a pair of stone-washed, high waisted jeans with a light pink blouse. I paired this with a pair of black heels. I then hurriedly took a shower before getting dress. 

As I galloped down the stairs,  I felt a pair of eyes staring at me. It was damn uncomfortable! I slowly moved my eyes to the couch. To my surprise, Dr Wells sat there in his wheelchair, with his hands folded on his lap. "Good morning Ms Ramon. How are you doing today?", he asked with a friendly smile on his face. I returned a smile and ploped myself on the couch opposite him. "I'm just feeling a bit...peachy. And yourself?", I said with a hint of doubt. "One cannot complain about such a lovely day. Perfect weather for planting some orchids", he said, staring at the flowerbeds outside with a grin. I wasn't quite sure what it was but there was something about him that put me at unease. I was snapped out of my thoughts with Wellies voice. " Ms Ramon, would you be interested in running errands for Cisco and I. With Ms Snow, of course", he said while adjusting his glasses. I took a glimpse at my watch. I only had to be at campus at 3 o'clock. So I had quite a few hours to spare. I nodded at his request causing a huge smile to surface on Wellies face. He then drove towards me and handed me a list of the items I needed. My jaw dropped as I noticed nothing familiar on the list. Like, where would I find a tungsten  stick in this town?! "Be careful Dr Wells, she had a bit of a late night with Barry yesterday so I doubt she'll be useful for us", Cisco said, snickering as he entered the room. I groaned inwards, smiled at Wellies before stomping upstairs and gathering my handbag items. I picked up my vibrating phone and saw a message from Caitlyn:

"Is Wells done? Can we leave? I'm coming to pick you up! Get ready! See you now now! (:"

Just as I was about to answer her message, the doorbell rang. I hurriedly ran downstairs and opened the door hastily. There stood Caitlyn and a woman I've never met before. I was about to greet them when Dr Wells yelled out his regards to a certain 'Ms Smoak'. I tilted my head in confusion. Who's that? As if Caitlyn read my mind, she replied, "Juliet, this is Felicity Smoak' from Starling City. She's here to help us today". I smiled at Felicity as we exchanged greetings. I hopped outside and closed the door behind me before checking my phone for any missed calls. None. I sighed and tried to be cheerful. "Shotgun!", I yelled before sprinting to the passenger side of the car and smiling at everyone. Felicity let out a little giggle before doing the same thing but with the back seats. As Caitlyn drove out of the driveway, Felicity tapped my shoulder and waited for me to answer. "Juliet, right? So I heard along the grapevine that you went out on a date with a certain Allen. Care to elaborate?", she said smiling. I gave her a small smile before shrugging it off. Her face fell as I done this. They had better brought tissues for me....

"WHAT!!! How could he do such a thing?!", Felicity screeched before slamming her fists on the tables. We were at the mall having a drink to relax from our shopping for both Wellies and ourselves. Felicity apologized as soon as she noticed everyone staring at our table. I burst out laughing at Felicity as she sank in her chair. " Right, carry on", she said, motioning for me to continue. "I felt ashamed that he thought so little of me", I said softly while dabbing my cheeks with a tissue. "You know what, forget him! No, actually don't! Find a poker chip that will lead you to the jackpot! Any ideas on who your chip could be?", Felicity asked inquisitively.  I stared at her with wide eyes. What was she talking about?! And then it clicked....."There is Roy Harper, a guy from my law class. But I find him so annoying!", I stated hopelessly before looking at the girls for help. "That's it! You must use Roy as a pawn to get Barry", Caitlyn said breathlessly. I frowned and narrowed my eyes at her suggestion before giggling softly. " Okay, okay. As long as you two help me. I've only seen these things in movies", I said while raising my hands up in defeat.

After the long day of bonding with Caitlyn and Felicity, I made my way to campus. As I got to my desk, I noticed a lumo pink sticky note stuck to my desk. I slowly peeled it off and read it in my head: When I met you in the summer to my heartbeat sound. We fell in love as the leaves turned brown....I was very confused after reading it so I read it again. But this time aloud. After reading it for the second time, i analyzed the note. When I met you in the summer? It was autumn, I thought. As I thought about it, the sound of laughter filled the air as Roy emerged from his spot. "If you don't know that song, we can't be friends! I'm going to de-friend you and take you back to Paris", he said, in between laughing. I blushed at my stupidity and removed my book from my bag. Just when I thought he disappeared, he returned with a booklet. "Hey Julie, can you explain this concept to me?", he asked, dropping the booklet on my desk. I looked at him and nodded before asking him when. "This afternoon? My house?", he asked. I grinned at him, agreeing to it.

Barry's POV

I was currently running on my special treadmill for Wells, Cisco and Caitlyn to observe something. Dr Wells told me to push myself harder to run faster. As I reached 700 mp/h, my ego got the worst of me causing me to lose my concentration, fall flat on my face and collide with the padding on the wall. I slowly got up and looked at Cisco, who was smiling like he just met a model. I laughed at him but my happiness died quickly as I noticed Caitlyn staring at her computer. I walked up to her to find out why she was acting so strange and bothered. "Are you okay, Caitlyn?", I asked with concern prominent in my voice. She looked up and me, before frowning and continuing with her work. "Sometimes all we need is a push to wake us up from Lala Land", she said while shrugging. I shook my head at her words. Was she high on drugs? Why did she say that? I just shook it off and took my phone out. I immediately saw a message from Iris, inviting me to join her at the movie cinema. I done a 5 second dance party before typing out a response. As I was about to send it, Juliet popped into my mind. I exited the message without sending and went to Juliet's contact. I was contemplating on whether I should call her or not when suddenly, my finger slipped and I dialled her number. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes as I waited for the ringing to subside. After a few seconds, a husky voice answered. "Hey Barry. Sorry, I'm having a study date with your girl. Hope you don't mind"...and with that being said, Roy hung up. I clenched my jaw and rested my head on the wall. Why was she with him? She barely knew him and his cunning ways. I started pacing back and forth while taking deep breaths. She was so annoying. And inexperienced at life and it's issues. And boy, was she curious. And she could be a real tease.

But then I realized something that shook my insides and left my mouth dry. I have grown feelings for the inexperienced, annoying, curious tease named Juliet Ramon and I didn't realize it. And now she was hanging with Roy, not me. I groaned at my own stupidity. I was so infatuated with Iris that I forgot about the only girl that actually cared. I forgot what it feels like to have an ordinary girl fall for you and try to prove that she is the one....
