Cody felt better than he did yesterday and was well enough to attend classes. When he came to class one morning, almost all his classmates bombarded him with questions. The only few who didn't question him were Terry, Nigel, and Autumn, who remained in their seats as they watched Cody walk to his. As he and Milo sat down, the other students continued asking Cody several different questions.

Jackson asked, "Yo, what happened to you, bro?"

Magnette asked, "Did something happen at Haven Beach that made you skip class?"

Angie asked, "What happened to those who went missing at Haven Beach?"

Thomas asked, "Those people are okay, right?"

The endless questions made Cody so uncomfortable that he couldn't look any of his classmates in the eye. Beside him, Milo sat in his chair, uncertain how to assist his friend in his predicament. But then, the door opened as Mr. Kim walked in saying, "Okay, class, settle down! Give Mr. Byrd some space!"

With that, the questions ceased as everyone went to their respective desks.

Mr. Kim looked at Cody and said, "It's good to have you back, Cody."

"It's good to be back," Cody said with a sheepish grin. "Sorry for being gone for two days."

"We don't blame you, man," Jackson replied, leaning against his chair. "You've been gone for your first mission."

Soon enough, class began with Mr. Kim's new lecture on Eldritch found in city areas. Throughout the lesson, everyone took notes, but for some reason, Cody felt somewhat distracted. It wasn't because of the questions regarding what happened at Haven Beach. After all, the thought of what happened didn't bother him as much anymore. The only thing on Cody's mind right now was what had happened between him and Lucien at the party at Scott's apartment last night. It made him wonder, What the heck was that?

For that, Cody decided that he wanted to confront Lucien about it when he saw him again.

After class ended in an hour, Cody was making his way down the hall, his eyes looking down at the floor. Next to him, Milo noticed the deep-in-thought look on his friend's face.

"Are you okay?" Milo asked as he got his friend's attention.

"Huh?"

"You seemed lost in thought, and you looked distracted in class today. What gives?"

"I..." Cody trailed off as he searched for the right words.

"Did Lucien do something to you last night?" Milo asked. That was what made Cody freeze in his steps.

"What?" He turned to look at Milo, his yellow eyes wide and his cheeks turning pink.

"Aha! So, he did do something!" Milo pointed a finger at the other freshman's face. "What did he do that's making you go all pink right now?"

"Um..." Cody looked down and muttered, "Can we at least talk about this where no one can hear us?"

Milo then looked around the hallway, watching as other students walked past them. Cody was right, he realized. If they talked about it in the hallway, everyone would hear them. So, he nodded, and Milo and Cody went to find somewhere quiet to converse. The boys ended up going to the school library and are currently hiding in a room that only had a table. Cody realized it was a room for students to study.

After sitting down in the study room, Cody began to explain what happened between him and Lucien on the night of the party. Once he was done, Milo had his hands pressed together and close to his lips and his eyes squinting. He was thinking about all that Cody told him.
