"Los Angeles, California," Dean said as he shut the trunk of the car and made his way around the car.
"What's in L.A?" Sam asked.
"Creeps and eating disorders?" I suggested.
"A young girl's been kidnapped by an evil cult," Dean replied.
"Yeah? That girl got a name?" Sam asked.
"Katie Holmes."
Sam laughed. "That's funny. And, for you, so bitchy."
The sound of something crashing to the floor and yelling echoed from inside the Roadhouse.
"Sounds fun," I remarked.
"On the other hand, catfight." Dean walked off toward the bar.
"Are you stupid?" I followed him. "Why am I asking? Of course you are."
"I am your mother! I don't have to be reasonable!" Ellen yelled, moving across the bar as we walked inside.
"You can't keep me here!" Jo yelled back.
"Don't bet on that, sweetie!"
"What are you gonna do? Chain me up in the basement?"
"You've had worse ideas than that recently. You don't wanna stay? Don't stay. Go back to school!"
"I didn't belong there! I was a freak with a knife collection!"
"Getting yourself killed on some dusty back road--that's where you belong?"
Jo spotted us then, shoulders sagging.
Ellen turned to look. "Guys, bad time."
"Really? Couldn't tell," I said.
"Yes, ma'am," Sam shot me a look.
"Yeah, we rarely drink before ten anyway," Dean added, setting an arm around my shoulder.
"Wait," Jo said. "I want to know what they think about this."
"Gonna warn you, these two don't think. It's not their strong suit," I told her.
"I don't care what they think!" Ellen snapped as a family walked in. A mom, dad, two kids, all in matching shirts.
"Are you guys open?" the father of the family asked.
"Yes!" Ellen yelled while Jo screamed 'no.'
"We'll just check out the Arby's down the road," he said before ushering his family out of the door.
