The living room of the Mystery Shack buzzed with excitement. Mabel stood at the center of the room, eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Alright, party planners.", she declared, drawing the attention of everyone present. "In one week, we become teenagers, and our summer vacation winds to an end. So we need to throw the greatest party of all time! I'm talking piñatas with tinier piñatas inside."
Soos shared in Mabel's enthusiasm. "Boom, dreams comin' true!", he exclaimed, pouring smaller piñatas into a larger one, a grin stretching across his face.
Mabel continued, her mind racing with ideas. "I'm talking inviting everyone in town. Let's see, where do we stand with the gnomes?"Dipper, who was sitting beside Mabel, piped up, his tone serious. "Mabel, we can't invite the gnomes."
Stanley barged into the room, a stern expression on his face. "Not so fast, goofus and girl-goofus.", he interrupted. "After that zombie incident, no one's throwing another party at my house. I keep finding little bits of the undead in the couch cushions." To emphasize his point, he pulled out a small zombie arm from under a chair cushion and held it up for everyone to see.I winced at the gruesome discovery, but Mabel, ever the optimist, waved off Stanley's concerns. "Oh, come on, Grunkle Stan.", she pleaded. "We need some roof to raise."
Stanley grumbled, his irritation clear on his face. "Why can't you just have a slumber party?", he groused, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Play some pin the tail on the donkey, paint each other's nails, braid each other's hair, stay up all night talking about cute boys?"
Dipper tried to mediate the situation. "Mabel, maybe a more intimate party would be better.", he suggested, a hint of regret in his eyes. "Just our closet friends?"
Mabel scoffed, her arms crossed over her chest. "Don't be ridiculous, Dip.", she retorted. "What kind of teenager have a party like that?"I couldn't resist interjecting, a nostalgic smile playing at my lips. "I did."
Mabel's eyes widened at my revelation. "You did? when?""When I turned 18.", I replied with a sheepish shrug. "I had a small gathering, just me and a few close friends. We played board games, watched movies, and stayed up all night talking."
"Talking about boys.", Stanley chimed in, his tone sly. I shot him a withering glare, but he just chuckled, clearly amused by his own joke.Mabel's excitement seemed to deflate a little."But that's so boring.", she protested, pouting. "Where was the excitement? Where were the fireworks, or the bounce house, or the laser show?"
I chuckled softly, shaking my head at Mabel's persistent argument.Soos piped up with a suggestion. "Dude, you could rent out the Gravity Falls High School gym, and have your party there. That place is empty all summer long."
Mabel beamed at Soos, her eyes immediately fixing on Stanley. "Yeah, come on, Grunkle Stan! We could have a huge blow-out bash in the gym!", she coaxed, her tone filled with hopefulness.Just then, a voice called from upstairs, breaking the excitement. "Y/N, my face is on fire!" It was Ford, sounding oddly calm despite the alarming words.
My heart skipped a beat, concern flooding through me as I turned around. "Your face is what now?", I cried, my voice filled with anxiety. "I'll just be a sec.", I said, dashing out of the room and into mine.I arrived at Ford's old room, finding him standing in the center with a towel, wiping his face, which was indeed smoking.
"What happened?!", I exclaimed, rushing over to him with worry etched on my face. "Are you okay?"Ford looked up, seemingly unbothered. "Oh yes, I'm fine. I just said that to make sure you'd come in here quickly."
I blinked in confusion. "But... your face is on fire."
"Yes.", Ford replied matter-of-factly, "It's much faster than shaving. Now, listen, Y/N. We've got a problem."
