With a spark of mischief flickering in my mind, I yanked Ford's arm and pulled him along with me as I scanned the beach for anything that could serve our purpose. "Just a small... controlled... break in time.", I murmured to myself, hoping it sounded at least half as reasonable out loud.

Ford stumbled slightly as I pulled him along, surprise and caution warring on his face. "A break in time?!", he murmured, his voice laced with both concern and a hint of scientific curiosity.

I didn't bother to explain further. My attention was on the beach. Finally, I spotted an old, battered toy sailboat washed up on the sand. It was nothing fancy, just a little wooden boat with faded paint and a broken mast, but something about it felt... important.

Ford raised an eyebrow as I picked it up, holding it as if it were some sacred relic. "You think a toy boat is going to get the Time Police's attention?"

I shrugged nonchalantly, my tone betraying the gravity of my intentions. "It's worth a shot. And beggars can't be choosers, right? Besides, you never know who or what this belonged to. What if it belonged to some great inventor, or even a future Time Police officer?"

Ford still looked skeptical, but there was a glimmer of curiosity in his eyes. "So, what's your plan?"

I gave the sailboat a little twist, adjusting the broken mast back in place, then waded into the shallow tide pool nearby. Setting the boat on the water, I gave it a gentle push. "There. We're sending this boat out on a new path. Maybe it'll end up somewhere it shouldn't, or maybe it'll cross paths with someone who wasn't supposed to find it."

Ford watched as the tiny boat drifted away, and for a second, it seemed like nothing would happen. Then, all at once, the wind picked up, swirling around us with a strange electric charge. The waves around the little boat started to ripple in a distinctly unnatural way, as if time itself were bending to catch up with our interference.

Ford and I stood there, both of us watching the odd spectacle of the boat and waves, our breaths held. Suddenly, the sky above us flickered, and an odd, static-filled portal began forming above the ocean. Ford's eyes went wide, his scientific mind clearly torn between fascination and terror.

"Did you... actually just break time with a toy boat?", he asked, half-amazed.

Before I could answer, the portal shimmered, and none other than Blendin Blandin popped through, looking as frazzled as ever. He spotted us and slapped a hand to his forehead. "Oh, come on! Who keeps meddling with the timeline?!"

I shot Ford a triumphant grin. "Looks like we've been noticed."

Blendin stalked towards us, muttering to himself about 'timeline disruptors' and 'careless humans', stopping just a few feet away. He looked us up and down, his eyes narrowing. "What, exactly, did you two do?", he demanded.

I gestured toward the sailboat, which was now rocking in the waves, seemingly completely normal despite the fact that it had been our tool to attract Blendin's attention. "We've... done a little medaling, you could say. But it was for a good cause, I swear."

Blendin's face scrunched up in annoyance. "Medaling? Do you have any idea how much paperwork this is going to cause?!"

Ford, always one to try and reason with authority figures, attempted to chime in, his hands raised in a placating gesture. "Wait, wait! We're not here to cause trouble. We just need your help—"

Blendin cut him off with a wave of his hand. "Save it. I've heard all the 'we didn't mean it' and 'oops, we broke time' excuses before."

I stepped forward, my tone a mix of pleading and assertiveness. "Look, we didn't just do this for the fun of it. We're not trying to mess things up any more than necessary. We're stuck in the wrong time, and we need to get back to our own."
