I was bustling about the kitchen, preparing the snacks and beverages for Mabel and Dipper's thirteenth birthday party. The living room now looked cozy and inviting, with colorful decorations and an array of snacks laid out on the table. The cake sat proudly in the middle, its frosting decorated by me.

I glanced at the clock on the wall, mentally checking off the tasks on my list to prepare for the party. Mabel and Dipper's friends would be arriving soon, as would the rest of the town and I wanted everything to be perfect.

As I set the finishing touches on the snacks, Ford and Stanley entered the kitchen. Stanley's eyes widened as he took in the scene. "Whoa, you really outdid yourself, didn't you?", he said, an amused spark in his eyes.

I chuckled, straightening up from where I had been carefully placing the snacks. "Yeah, I just want everything to be perfect for the kids. It's their thirteenth birthday, after all. It's kind of a milestone."

Ford came up behind me, his hand gently resting on my hip as he bent down, his mouth inches from my ear. "Everything looks great.", he murmured, his voice low and warm.

Stanley groaned, rolling his eyes. "Ugh, can you two quit being gross for like.. five minutes?"
I flushed, the warmth of Ford's hand seeping into my skin through my shirt. "Hush, you."

Stanley chuckled at my reaction, his expression shifting into a teasing grin. "Hey, just because you two idiots are blissfully sappy doesn't mean we all have to suffer."

Ford chuckled as well, his fingers idly tracing patterns on my hip. I tried to focus on finishing the task at hand, but Ford's touch was making it hard to concentrate. "You're distracting me.", I muttered, attempting to sound stern.

Ford simply hummed, the corners of his mouth twitching up. "Is that so?", he said, his voice dripping with fake innocence.
I shot him a playful glare, resisting the urge to lean into his touch. "Yes, that is so. So cut it out."

Stanley rolled his eyes again, but his smile belied his amusement. "Jesus, get a room, you two."
I felt my face heat up even more, the tips of my ears burning. Ford, however, didn't seem bothered at all. He chuckled, his hand still resting on my hip. "Maybe we should.", he said nonchalantly.

Stanley groaned, clearly exasperated. "Oh, come on." He threw his hands up in mock surrender. "Alright, I'm leaving. I can't handle this level of goobledygook." With that, he strode out of the kitchen, leaving Ford and me alone.

As soon as he was out of sight, Ford drew me closer to him, his hand moving to my lower back. "Where were we?", he murmured, his breath hot against my ear.

I shivered as his breath hit my skin, the heat of his touch sending tingles down my spine. I tipped my head back to look at him, my heart rate increasing. "You were distracting me, that's what you were doing.", I replied, my voice a bit breathless.

Ford smirked. "Oh, is that so? I could say the same about you." He stepped even closer, pressing his body against mine, trapping me between him and the kitchen counter.

My breath hitched as his body pressed against mine, his lean form solid and warm. "Me? I haven't done anything.", I protested, my voice a bit higher than usual.

Ford's hand slid up from my lower back, tracing a path along my spine before coming to rest on the nape of my neck. "Oh, really? Are we forgetting those little hugs from behind, when I'm trying to concentrate on work?"

"I-I didn't do it that often.", I protested weakly.
He chuckled, the sound low and rich. "Mmhm. Sure, you didn't."

I could feel my breath quicken as his fingers tangled in the hair at the base of my neck, his touch sending little jolts of electricity down my spine. "I-it wasn't that bad, come on.", I mumbled, my voice wavering.
