(AN: I have reasonably lost a great amount of my readers, but i'm happy to see that there are still some people out there who votes for this story. I know my crimes are unforgivable and this book will most likely be a short story.
I do have plans of creating a new book filled with imagines, so it's easier for me to keep alive. Let me know if you think that's an idea i should pursue.
Now lean back and enjoy chapter 8. Thank you for reading❣️)

⚠️TRIGGER WARNING⚠️
death

-Third pov-

You sat at your dining table with Mycroft. "What brought you here?" You asked him as you took a sip of your tea. Although Mycroft Holmes wasn't one of the kindest men you knew, you saw no choice but to let him in. He was your lover's brother after all.

"How do you survive here without a husband?" His question surprisd you and you couldn't help but think it had something to do with Enola. "I press flowers" You said pointing at your pinboard where you had pinned different flowerpresses you made, with sewing needles.

"Is that so?" Mycroft replied looking at the flowers with an almost disgusted look. The air was tense at the table and it quickly became uncomfortable. "Uhhm...how about I go fetch us some biscuits" You said with a forced smile as you excused yourself to go to the kitchen.

Mycroft saw this as an opportunity. He pulled out a tiny glass container with sand coloured powder. It was crushed hemlock. He had planned this out for two weeks, and he smirked as he could feel the plan going as he wanted it to. Carefully he poured the powder into your tea and stirred it with his spoon.

When you came back from the kitchen, Mycroft fumbled suspiciously holding his spoon between his thumb and index finger. You accidentally gave him a confused look even though you meant to be polite. When he noticed, he waved it off by stirring his own cup of tea.

You gently placed the three tiered tray with biscuits between you, as you sat down again. "Why did you visit?" You asked trying to pay Mycroft a soft smile.

"I need you to stay away from Enola."

Enola. Just hearing her name gave you butterflies.

"Oh well me and Enola are just dear friends and I-"

"Stay. Away. From. Enola." He interrupted.

"But sir I have never touched or even slept next to her." You knew this was the biggest lie you have ever said, but you couldn't lose Enola. Your words reminded you of how much love Enola has showed you the past two and a half weeks. How she held you close and kissed your neck. How your skin set on fire just by a single touch of hers. What you and Enola had was special and you would do anything to keep it.

"You know two women can't love each other like that. It's impossible." You gulped at your words, not even realising they actually left your mouth. To save your throat from completely drying out, you slowly picked up your teacup. Mycroft's eyes suddenly looked at you very intensely. Your cup was only half an inch away from your lips before you noticed Enola jumping and waving outside the window right behind Mycroft.

He sighed as he started talking but you didn't hear a word as you tried to decode what Enola was gesturing. "Excuse me, I'll be right back" You said to him as you got up heading towards your backdoor, trying to make it seem like you had to go to the restroom, so Mycroft wouldn't suspect anything.

"Enola what are you doing here?" You asked while slowly and quietly closing the door behind you. "Whatever you do, do not drink anymore of your tea." She said putting your hands in hers looking you deep in the eyes. Those brown eyes always made your knees weak.

"Why? What's wrong with it?"

"I fear Mycroft may have poisoned it"

"WHA-" Enola covered your mouth with her hand before you shouted so loud, Mycroft could hear you. "Be quiet Y/n. This could cost your life." She let her hand uncover your mouth.

Lost in her eyes you just stood there admiring her. You loved how protective she could be. "Y/n do you hear me?" She said grabbing your jaw and waist pulling you closer. "Hmm.." You hummed getting distracted by the way her lips moved. "Look me in the eyes." Enola said and you followed her order. "Do you understand?" She asked looking at you with a firm look.

"Yes, I understand."

"What do you understand?"

"That my life is at risk, so I shouldn't finish my tea."

"Good darling. Now get in before he suspects anything." Enola said pecking your lips and gently pushing you towards the door. "I love you" You mouthed to her as you sneaked back inside your house.

When you entered your diningroom you gasped as you saw Mycroft lifeless on his chair. "Enola!" You called as she alarmed ran inside the house, gasping almost as loud as you when she saw Mycroft's body. She looked at you with questioning eyes, trying to figure out what happened. You shrugged with a worried look on your face, hoping Enola didn't think you murdered her brother.

She walked over to Mycroft putting an ear to his mouth. "Is he breathing?" You asked with an almost shaky voice. Enola shook her head clenching her jaw and putting her hand on his chest trying to feel his heartbeat. "He's gone." She said as she stood back.

Enola felt a rush of thousands of emotions going through her body. Her eyes slipped a tear while you were too caught up in the moment to even react.

You both noticed Mycroft's cup was empty and you looked at each other with a glimpse of realization. Enola moved over to have a closer look on your cup. "There's powder on your undercup." She concluded looking back at you. "Do you remember anything relevant?" She asked in a very serious tone.

"Hmmm.." You closed your eyes trying to recall everything that had happened during Mycroft's visit. "Oh! Yes!" You threw a hand in the air happy you remembered. "When I came back from the kitchen he was holding his own spoon. And he seemed so surprised by the fact that I got back."

"He poisoned himself." Enola stated the fact, both of us already knew. You made a deep exhale trying to cope with the fact that the man you spoke with 5 minutes ago is now dead, but also scared that you
accidentally played a role in it.

"I'm sorry my love" You said just above a whisper. At your words Enola turned around to look at you. "Hey, look at me." She said with a soothing voice while standing closer to you cupping your cheeks.

"Don't worry. I don't blame you at all. In the end all that matters to me is that you're safe. Even though Mycroft was my brother, he did nothing but trap me in his conservative cage. A thing about me is that i don't give a bloody damn about what the world tells me" You knew this. It was one of the things you loved most about her.

"I choose to walk my own path instead of following the path others make for me. Our future is up to us. And our love is a part of my path. When you took me to the field of dreams I knew that I loved you. I didn't think loving a woman was possible at first. You proved me so wrong."

"It's you and me against the world and I would sacrifice anything and anyone to be with you. You have showed me so much love in weeks that no one has my whole life. I love you Y/n."

Enola's speech made both of you's eyes watery. You pulled her in by the waist and placed a passionate kiss on her lips. She gladly returned the kiss before you pulled back with your foreheads against each other. "I love you too" You whispered.

You gasped lightly as you saw Mycroft's corpse still on your chair, knowing that Enola's words made you completely forget about the situation. "Go to your bedroom, okay? I'll call Sherlock." You nodded at Enola's words. "Good luck dear" She smiled as you walked towards your bedroom.
