[ SEASON 1, EPISODE 9 ]

TODAY WAS UNITY DAY. It was a holiday on the Ark that Alaska enjoyed. It was the day the twelve stations came together as one. Even though Alaska and the others weren't there today, they still got to watch.

"This is a historic Unity Day," Jaha speaks on the screen, "Every year, we mark the moment are ancestors of the twelve stations joined to form the Ark but this is the last time we do so while aboard her."

The Ark was finally going to be coming down to the ground. Meaning Alaska will see her dad again - she was excited to see him but everyone else? Not so much. Everyone she loved was already down here, she just missed her dad.

"Next year... on the ground," Jaha said and behind Alaska, she could hear Miller scoff, "Right. After we did all the work. Someone shut him up." He laughs with a few others.

"You shut up, Miller. No one's forcing you to watch." Raven snaps back and Alaska - from beside her - laughs and focuses back on the screen.

Alaska was happy. She didn't have to worry about the grounders or anyone getting hurt. Her dad would be coming down soon and he'd be by her side again; a privilege Kane and the council took away.

Either way, she was happy and she hoped it'd last.

Breaking her thoughts, she heard a holler coming from the other side of the camp. Jasper appears out of his tent with a keg, "Whoo! Monty strikes again!" He comes down into the crowd, "Call this batch Unity Juice! Who's thirsty?"

Alaska lets out a laugh and starts to walk over to the crowd when a hand landing on her shoulder stops her. "Don't even think about it, kid." Alaska turns to look up at him, "Come on, Finn. Don't be boring..." She whined.

"No way," Finn shakes his head presses down on her shoulders, and pushes her gently in the opposite direction.

Alaska's shoulders fall as she goes to sit on one of the tree logs. Resting her elbow on her knee and holding her head up by her palm, she watches everyone.

"To our sons and daughters on Earth listening to this message, we will see you soon." Jaha spoke, "The first Exodus ship will launch in under 60 hours carrying you the reinforcements that you need. So, stay strong. Help is on the way."

Alaska rolled her eyes.

IT WAS NIGHTIME NOW and Alaska was stuck watching everyone drink and have fun because Finn was practically her own bodyguard now, making sure she was not getting in trouble and was out of harm's way.

"I'll be right back, stay here," Finn says to Alaska who was sitting around the fire pit when he walked off. Making sure he was out of view, Alaska smiled to herself and stood up, walking over to the drinks.

She began to fill an empty cup and once she started to bring it to her lips, a voice scares her, "What are you doing?" Making her spill the drink onto the ground. Alaska sighs, turning around to see Bellamy's smirk.

"Geez, Bell. You scared me!" He chuckles, "You're fifteen." Alaska groans, "And? I'm just trying to live a little before I die by the grounders." She sarcastically comments.

Bellamy steps forward, "You're not going to die, I wouldn't let that happen," Alaska rolls her eyes, not fully believing him, "But as for the having fun? Here, kid." Bellamy poured her another drink and held it out for her.

Her lips curl into a smile as she takes the drink into her hands, not wasting a second to take a drink. Bellamy laughs, "Pace yourself. It's your first time."

Alaska pulls the cup from her lips and wipes her mouth with the back of her hand before giving Bellamy a bright smile. "Don't tell Finn." She muttered.

He shakes his head, "Don't worry, kid. I won't." He wraps an arm around her shoulders and pulls her in a side hug.

"Unity day is fun." Alaska takes another sip of her drink as Bellamy's laugh echoes in her ears.

CLARKE WALKED UP TO BELLAMY AND ALASKA, stopping them in their tracks. "Hey. I need to talk to you." Clarke said, and Bellamy grinned, "Having fun yet, princess?" "I'm serious," Clarke exclaimed. Alaska's smile faltered, adverting her eyes between them, silently getting the hint.

Alaska removes herself from Bellamy's side and goes to walk away before Clarke speaks out again, "Stay. I think I'm going to need both of you." Alaska was confused but stayed.

"You always are, so talk."

"Finn's set up a meeting with the grounders," Alaska's eyes widened and she shouted, "What?!" Surprised by the loudness of her voice, she covered her mouth with two of her hands, cringing at the people looking at her weirdly now. Clarke shook her head, amused, "I'm leaving to go talk to them."

"Because you figure that impaling people on spears is code for let's be friends? Have you lost your damn mind?" Bellamy questioned.

"I think it might be worth a shot," Clarke shrugged, "I mean, we do have to live with these people."

"They'll probably gut you, string you up as a warning," Bellamy grumbled. "Well, that's why I'm here. I need you to follow us, be our backup." Clarke reveals her plan but Alaska still holds confusion. "And why do you need me?" She asks the blonde.

Clarke turns her gaze, "I want you to come up there with me."

"No way," Bellamy objects. "She obviously meant something to the grounders in the drop ship. You saw the way he reacted to her. She can be helpful." Despite her words, Bellamy tried to fight back, arguing she shouldn't be going at all.

"I'll go," Alaska speaks up, bravely cutting off the bickering between the two. Bellamy looks down at the girl, seeing the new determination in her eyes. He sighs and looks back at Clarke, "Does Finn know about this?"

Clarke shakes her head, "Finn doesn't need to know.. and Bellamy, bring guns." Bellamy nods and before they go their separate ways, Bellamy stops Alaska by placing a hand on her shoulder gently. "Just in case," He held out a knife for her.

"Thanks." Alaska takes the knife, hiding the knife inside her boot, and waves goodbye before following Clarke.

Alaska walks side by side with Clarke, heading to the gate where Finn is waiting. She knew he wasn't going to be happy but Alaska followed Clarke's lead anyway.

As footsteps came closer, Finn turned around and was surprised, to say the least, to see Alaska and Clarke. His eyes widened and shook his head, "No, what is she doing here? I told you no backup."

"Clarke wanted me to come." She crossed her arms over her chest.

Finn's mouth opened in disbelief and looked at Clarke for an explanation. Clarke shrugged, "The grounder cared about her. I think she can help." Finn shakes his head in disbelief, "Fine," Finn turns to Sky, "But you stay close to either me or Clarke, no running off."

Finn was always the more strict one but it's just because he cared.

Alaska gives him a nod, "Okay."
