[ EPISODE 9, PART TWO ]
IT WAS THE NEXT MORNING and Alaska followed Finn and Clarke's lead when they rounded the corner and reached the bridge. "Finally," Alaska muttered before seeing Octavia already there. Despite the lingering questions in her mind, the girl smiled, "Octavia!" She runs up to her and hugs the older girl.
Octavia laughs as she hugs her back, "Hey, Sky. What are you doing here?" Alaska pulls back, "Clarke wanted me to come." She stated, looking behind her at the two before suddenly feeling the tension.
"So that's how you set this up." Clarke realized. "You helped him escape, didn't you?" Octavia sighed, "I trust him, Clarke."
"There's a lot of that going around." She muttered.
They hear footsteps from the other side of the bridge, "Someone's coming." They turn and see Lincoln coming out of the woods, heading towards us. Alaska smiles when she sees Octavia running to him where they meet in the middle and hold onto each other.
When she sees Lincoln look up and towards them, Alaska gives a small wave.
Then, all of a sudden, from the woods, she can hear the beats of hoofs. Nothing could have prepared her for the sight. The grounders arrived riding real-life horses; three of them. Alaska's mouth dropped in awe. "Oh my god. Horses!" Clarke exclaimed from beside her.
There were three grounders. In the middle was a woman, and right away, Alaska could tell she was their leader. On the sides of her were two bigger grounders. Then, she noticed their weapons - spears and arrows.
"Hey, we said no weapons!" Finn argued. "I was told there wouldn't be," Lincoln replied.
"It's too late now," Clarke said. Alaska looked over at her, searching her face until she gave her a nod. Alaska starts to walk forward with Clarke until Lincoln catches her arm, stopping her, "She goes alone."
Alaska glances at Clarke, "Fine. Then, I'll go."
"I don't think that's a good idea," Alaska looks at Octavia, "You're supposed to be on my side, you know." She teased. Clarke sighs, "I'll be fine. Sky, stay here." The girl huffs, crossing her arms over her chest, and watches as Clarke walks to meet with their leader.
When the woman grounder and Clarke met in the middle of the bridge, Alaska couldn't hear anything but she watched closely, and from her, it didn't seem like it was going well.
Looking to the left, she spotted Bellamy, Raven, and Jasper holding guns. She wasn't totally happy about bringing weapons to this and going behind Finn's back.
Cutting off her thoughts, she heard a yell, "Clarke, run! Run!"
Jasper emerged from out of the bushes below the bridge, raising their guns along with Raven and Bellamy.
At the sound of the gunshots, Alaska flinched and ducked down as Finn left her side and ran to Clarke, "Clarke, get down!"
Lincoln jogged over to her now, grabbing the sleeve of her jacket and pulling her closer and behind him. "You okay?" Lincoln frantically asked and Sky nodded her head. The grounders were throwing arrows everywhere - and one was coming directly at them.
It was going to hit Alaska before Lincoln jumped in front and the arrow landed in his shoulder. She gasped, "Lincoln!"
"Oh, my god, Lincoln! You've been hit!" Octavia exclaimed. "It's just a scratch." He grunted as he pulled out the arrow himself.
"Okay, run!" Lincoln ordered, "Don't stop until you get behind your walls. Go, take her!" He shoves Alaska and Octavia toward the others when Finn and Clarke catch up to them.
Alaska took Octavia's hand, "O..." she mumbled, and we all ran into the woods and to the camp.
BY TIME THEY MADE IT BACK, she was exhausted. Doubling over, she took deep breaths. As they caught their breath, Alaska stood up straighter and Bellamy spoke up, "You got something to say?" Finn looked over at Clarke, "Yeah. I told you no guns!"
"I told you we couldn't trust the grounders," Clarke snapped, "I was right!"
"Why didn't you tell me what you were up to?" Raven says to Finn. "I tried, but you were too busy making bullets for your gun!"
"You're lucky she brought that!" Bellamy defended Raven, "They came there to kill you, Finn. All of you!"
"You don't know that! Jasper fired the first shot!" Finn argued. Alaska sighed, keeping her mouth shut. She knew that war was coming with the grounders.
"You ruined everything," Octavia said to Jasper before walking off. "I saved you!" Jasper called out before scoffing, "You're welcome." He muttered, walking away.
"Well, if we weren't at war already we sure as hell are now." No shit. "You didn't have to trust the grounders. You just had to trust me." Finn said before he and Raven walked off.
Alaska looked at Bellamy and Clarke, shrugging and letting her arms fall to her sides. "Like I said best Unity Day ever," Bellamy remarked and Alaska cracked a smile. She went to talk but a loud noise cut her off. Looking up into the sky, she saw something bright coming down.
"The Exodus ship?" Bellamy wondered, "You're parents are early." He glanced down at Alaska, nudging her side making her chuckle. "My dad..." she said in disbelief, a smile on her face.
As they watched the Exodus ship, her face began to turn into one of concern.
"Wait, too fast," Clarke quietly said, "No parachute? Something's wrong..." The Exodus ship only came closer to the ground and seemed to have no intention of slowing down.
Alaska watched as it collided with the ground, bursting into flames causing her heart to drop to the floor.
Pushing through Bellamy and Clarke, she gasped quietly. Her eyes were filled with tears as she watched in shock. "No..." she whispered, putting her head down, letting the tears fall.
Bellamy walked up, pulling her into his side as she choked on her cries, her heart breaking.
