Two firm knocks come from my front door and my stomach flutters in a mess of nerves. I straighten my dress before blowing air out of my lungs and opening the door. Several things all happen at once. First Dabi looks so fucking good. Black torn jeans with matching black boots and, a black button up with the sleeves rolled to show off his tattoos. Chains link from his belt loop and to his back pocket and Hawks red feather necklace on full display. Then I notice the piercings. He has is usual studs in his nose and cuffs on his ears but now a double piercing in his eyebrow catches my attention. Next, I notice the bouquet of roses he holds out to me, deep red and on full bloom. Dabi gulps as he looks at me. Eyes wide and mouth slightly parted. I raise my eyebrows at him. Neither of us has said anything yet and its becoming awkward.
"Come in while I put these in water?" I ask and step back, taking the roses from him. He clears his throat and nods.
I pull a vase out from under my sink and begin snipping the stems of the roses Dabi stands in the doorway to the kitchen watching me.
"You clean up nice Dabi. Who knew you had it in you," compliment without looking at him.
I stiffen as he cages me in against the counter. I hadn't even heard him move towards me. His voice his gruff when he whispers, "I almost want to skip the show and keep you here. Such a pretty little treat wrapped all nice just for me." His warm finger trails down my bare arm and goose bumps explode on my skin. I turn in his arms and look up at him. And God, he is gorgeous.
Dabi's eyes jump around my face, first to my eyes, painted with a dark red smokey eye then to my lips, adorn with the same red and black combo. He leans back just enough to run his eyes down my body. My dress for the night, a tight black lace bodice with black ribbons tied to make straps, and the black lace skirt that poofs ever so slightly. Paired with wide fishnets and boots that almost match Dabi's besides the heel on mine.
"Birdie isn't going to like you not wearing his feather," he says fingers trailing my exposed collarbone before pushing my hair over my shoulder. I squeeze my hand between us revealing the feather wrapped around my wrist. I had called Hawks earlier and explained and he was quick to come up with a solution. Dabi's hand rests on my waist, thumb gently running back and forth over the taught fabric. He grabs my hand and brings my wrist to his lips staring into my eyes as he places a kiss right where the feather meets my skin allowing both of us to feel the warmth of him.
"I really want to kiss you, but my makeup took forever and I'm not willing to go reapply it."
"The concert is for 7. We still have two hours," he says his lips trailing up my arm as he kisses my skin gently. I sigh as he kisses my shoulder, warm breath tickling my neck and fingers teasing with the bows holding my dress together.
And then my stomach growls. I cover my face with my hands as he laughs lightly. He kisses my cheek pulling my hands down and away from my blushing face, "one day we will get the timing just right and nothing will interrupt us." I finish putting the flowers in water at Dabi leans against the wall behind me then I turn and take his hand as he leads me out of my apartment and towards out first stop for the evening.
The restaurant we arrive at is a small hole in the wall place. Definitely a shop I would normally overlook on my day to day ventures. The lighting is warm and inviting and not many people congregate in the main area. A small section towards the back beeps with lights and noises of several arcade machines. Dabi leads me towards the counter and the hostess looks us over before asking, "Table for two?" She leads us to a small booth table that I slide into, Dabi on the other side before placing down two menus.
"I'm thinking we can get a pizza to share," he says looking at me carefully.
"That sounds good. What kind do you want?"
