"Kana! Are you almost ready yet?" Touya shouts from down the hall.
"Almost!" I call back as I strap my heels up.
"We're definitely going to be late."
"When have you ever cared about being on time?" I shout back as I grab my small clutch purse. I smooth out my simple black dress, check my make up one final time and, rush to the front door of my apartment. Touya is stood at the door checking his watch repeatedly while Shoto is sat on my sofa playing with Bacon.
"Finally," Touya says, and I bump him out the way with my hip.
"Hush. It's fine I doubt they will mind."
"it's moms first day out, I don't want to mess this up for her," Touya sighs.
"where's Hawks," Shoto asks as he joins us by the front door. Bacon sits at the end of the hallways mourning his play companion.
"Birdie isn't coming tonight. He said he had a lot of paperwork or something to catch up on. I need to talk to him soon," Touya seems annoyed, and panic fills me. I don't want to come between their friendship. And I especially don't want whatever tribe Hawks has with me to come between them.
Touya opens the door and ushers us out. He turns and quickly looks it with the brand new key on his key chain. I gave it to him a few nights ago and now he stops by whenever he wants. It's kinda nice.
Touya take my hand in his and the tree if us hurry down the stairs. In front if my apartment is a black car. A big brutish man is standing leaning against it, "are you the Todoroki's?" He asks and Touya nods slowly putting himself between the man and Shoto and I.
"Hawks hired me to give you three a lift," the man opens the back door. It's pristine and rather roomie. None of us move for a long moment. Then the feather under Touyas' button up flies out and pulls him forward.
"Alright birdie. I get it it's safe. Thank you."
Shoto slides in first, then me, and then Touya. The man shuts the door behind us and in a moment he's around to the driver side and we're taking off. If we had walked to the train, we probably would've been late but at this rate we will be just on time.
Touya's knee won't stop bouncing and its starting to tick me off. I reach out and place my hand over his knee giving it a firm squeeze. Tonight, we are meeting with Rei, who is finally out of the hospital.
All the Todoroki siblings will be in attendance... as well as Enji. This is the first time Rei and Enji are going to be spending time together since the accident, so I understand why everyone is on edge. Touya especially. While he had to go through the brunt of his mom and dad's fighting, we also are planning on announcing our relationship at dinner. Touya wanted to do it while his entire family is present so tonight feels like a perfect night. Shoto and Hawks are the only two who know so it will be a night to remember.
The restaurant Enji got us reservations at is a high end restaurant in the nicer part of town. When the driver pulls up, Touya fishes out his wallet and hands the man a few bills. He gets out first and holds his hand out for me to take. I almost feel like a celebrity. I wait for Shoto and the three of us walk into the restaurant.
"Can I help you?" The host says looking us up and down and not in a good way.
"Yes, we're meeting some one here. The reservation is under Todoroki," Touya says.
"Hmm sorry I'm not sure how you found that information out, but the Todoroki party has already been sat. I'm going to have to ask you three to leave."
"Touya! Shoto!" Fuyumi shouts as she makes her way over to the stand. The host looks embarrassed as she pulls each of the brother in for their own hug. She turns to me a glint in her eyes, "Why hello Kana. Don't you look lovely this evening."
