Alastor quietly unzipped his tent and poked his head outside, scanning for any hotel residents walking around. Realizing the coast was clear, the Radio Demon stepped outside and made his way towards the lake, keeping to the edge of the woods along the way.

He stared at the ground as he avoided stepping on twigs and large leaves, wincing as an unnoticed stick snapped under his foot.

The deer demon was usually awake at this hour, but the emotional turmoil between him and Lucifer had eaten away at his mind and energy. No matter what he said to the King, nothing seemed to strike him as genuine. Of course, it was understandable that he had gotten so upset at Alastor's remarks over his ex-wife, the deer demon thought that revealing one of his biggest insecurities would establish some sort of common ground between the two.

Clearly Lucifer has become quite tired of my remarks, Alastor thought, passing by the stream where he and Lucifer had their most recent argument. He paused for a moment, taking in the scenery. It was quite beautiful; the water glimmered in the moonlight in the exact same spots the sun had illuminated a few hours earlier. A soft rushing sound was audible, and a slight cool breeze blew through the trees.

The Radio Demon sighed, then resumed walking. He knew he had to do it. He knew he had to do whatever it took to get the King to forgive him, even if that meant putting his emotions on the line once again...

... Only, this time, there was more at risk.

A few minutes passed before Alastor noticed something shimmering on the horizon. The lake, he thought, cautiously gulping as if every creature in the woods could hear him. His breath hitched in his throat when he saw a family of ducks swimming, reminding him of Lucifer. He sighed, sauntering over to the bank. Startled, the ducks all flew away... except one white duck who was nestled in the middle of the flock.

Lucifer was lost in thought— thinking constantly about that damned Radio Demon. I didn't mean to say any of that... I don't hate him. And I fucking hate that I don't. He mentally facepalmed himself for letting himself get so attached to Alastor. Sure, he was charming, charismatic, smart, not to mention hot as fuck, but he was also evil, sadistic, manipulative, and cunning. The King was upset that Alastor managed to look so damn sexy whilst being the most evil sinner in Hell.

Still trapped in his mind, he was quickly forced out by the sound of beating wings and splashing water all around him. The ducks had all flown off, startled by something nearby. Lucifer scanned the area until his eyes landed on a tall, red figure wearing a tight-lipped smile. The King cursed to himself.

"Oh good, it's you." He mumbled sarcastically, turning around to paddle away from Alastor.

The deer demon sighed, then hesitantly sat on the grass. He was silent for a moment, unsure of how to start a conversation. Staring down at his feet, he exhaled slowly. "What are you doing swimming out here this late, my dear?" He asked softly, looking up at the King.

"Trying to avoid you." The duck said, then promptly disappeared behind a cloud of red glitter, only for the normal Lucifer to come swimming out of it, dressed in nothing but his ducky swim trunks.

Alastor blushed, then shook his head, trying to focus on speaking. "Lucifer... please give me another chance. I am truly sorry for withholding information from you, and for those unnecessary remarks about your... past," he finished, looking away nervously.

"How many chances have you blown so far?" Lucifer pretended to count with his fingers. "Oh! Too many times to fucking count. Leave me alone, asshole." He sent Alastor the birdie and turned away.
