3. dreams

the deafening sound of the bell woke yunho up from his slumber. he looked up with his eyes barely open and noticed everyone was getting ready to go home.

don't take him wrong, besides basketball, he was an academic weapon, but studying for college entrance exams and stress from basketball kept him from getting a good night's sleep.

he turned around, only to find seonghwa, and his other best friend yeosang staring at him in awe. sleeping in class was something yunho wouldn't even think of doing, so imagine the shock on his friends' faces. he stood up slowly and got his things ready before he walked out the classroom with yeosang and seonghwa.

"yuyu, are you ok?" seonghwa said in a concerned tone.

"yeah..." yunho knew he couldn't hide anything from his best friends, especially seonghwa so he decided to answer truthfully. "i'm just worried about college and everything to be honest"

it had been two weeks since basketball season ended and he still hadn't received an offer for a scholarship. his head was making up scenarios about not going to college and disappointing his parents, even though that wasn't the case at all, but the anxiety of the thought made him go crazy.

"it'll be okay yunho, i'm sure you'll get an offer soon" seonghwa said, encouraging the younger.

"not if song mingi already stole it from you" yeosang's ruthless humor was present as always.

yunho just glared at yesosang while he laughed his ass off and seonghwa just shook his head in disappointment, knowing there was nothing he could do to help.

as they walked outside of the school building, the cool breeze hit yunho's face, waking him up completely. the three parted ways, leaving yunho alone with his thoughts. wondering if what seonghwa said would actually happen.

as soon as he got home, he was startled by the muffled voices coming from the living room. he took of his shoes and headed there, careful to not interrupt.

"we're honored to offer your son a full scholarship to yonsei university, including a spot on our basketball team, as long as he accepts, of course" this sentence alone made him stop in his tracks.

he then ran towards the leaving room, surprising his mom and the college representative, "yes! i want to go, i say yes!!" the two people in front of him started laughing softly. yunho's mom got up and gave both of them a hug. startling the college representative but he hugged back as well. yunho couldn't wait to tell his dad the good news when he came home from work. his dream was coming true.

it was just another day for mingi at kyungbock high school, one of the few more that he'd spend there before he graduated. he had been scheduled for a college orientation next monday and he was so excited that he finally would get to go to his dream school.

he was getting ready for his last class after spending break with his friend group. he'd been friends with wooyoung and san ever since he started high school and he was proud to say he was the one responsible for their relationship, call him cupid if you may. he was also friends with jongho, san's cousin who he'd met through a school sports event last year, jongho was the best soccer player in their school, and maybe they bonded over being the best.

his last lesson was math, he wasn't going to lie to himself and say he liked it, but he could put up with it for at least an hour. the bell rang as a sign that he was free to go home, even though the thought of doing so brought down his mood. his parents were in yet another business trip and he couldn't bear to go home alone.

keeping in mind that his parents were often away, mingi had his own car. the drive from school to his home was kind of long since his parents decided to get a house near yonsei university as a way of manifesting.

he got home half an hour later and made some dinner before he decided to wash up and spend some time on his phone. he took his phone from the desk on the other side of the room and sat in his bed, carefully typing out a username on instagram.

no, he was not stalking, he was just trying to figure out if yunho had changed after his behavior from two weeks ago. as he was checking his page, he suddeny saw how yunho had just uploaded a note.

"yonsei here i come ><"

mingi was shocked but he could understand why yunho had gotten into that university. he wondered if they would ever become friends after going to the same school but that was something he'd worry about later.

before he went to sleep, he texted woosan and jongho asking them to make plans for tomorrow since it was the weekend. they all agreed saying they should spend more time together before graduation. mingi was even more excited after jongho told them he had tickets to seoul land. he went to bed right away, tomorrow was going to be an eventful day anyway so he would try to get his beauty sleep.
