the morning rays peaked through the courtains, hitting mingi on the face and making him open his eyes slowly.he rubbed his eyes gently and tried to stand up but someone was preventing him from it. he had completely forgotten about the fact that yunho slept next to him. he looked under the covers and his eyes widened in confusion. why was yunho's leg across his chest? mingi slowly started getting up, making sure he didn't interrupt the other's sleep.
the sight in front of him left him dumbfounded. yunho was sprawled all over the bed, his head hanging on the edge and his mouth open letting out quiet snores. mingi laughed uncontrollably as he saw the older starting to wake up.
"what are you laughing at so early in the morning?"
"mmm i don't know, maybe the fact that you're so adorable."
a pillow was throw at mingi's face but the younger caught it. perks of being a basketball player.
"i guess you want to fight so early in the morning"
mingi started attacking yunho, the taller too sleepy to dodge. it was all laughs and fun when suddenly heard muffled voices coming from downstairs.
"oh shit!" mingi exclaimed.
"what?! what happened?!" yunho whispered-yelled, his features full of panic and confusion.
"it's my parents! they're here early!"
yunho's eyes widened. what was he supposed to do now? but before they could do anything, the door opened. mingi's mom stared at the two boys who had come to a halt as soon as she came into the room.
"song mingi! mind doing some explaining?!"
both boys glanced at each other before trying to come up with an acceptable answer.
"it's not what it looks like mom, i swear!"
"who is this young man?!"
yunho was more scared than he's ever been his entire life and with good reason. mingi's mom was terrifying and her loud and menacing yelling only proved his statement.
"oh umm... this is yunho mom! he's one of my new college friends and he wanted to try out my gym so i let him come over" the excuse was somewhat believable though it didn't explain the undone bed and the fact that the older was wearing mingi's clothes. however, motherly intuition went out the door when the familiarity of the other boy's name made mingi's mother raise a quizzical brow.
"you said yunho? as in the boy you despise yunho?"
the two boys shared eye contact again, except now the only embarrassed person was mingi. imagine your crush knowing you hated him so much that even your mom knew.
"yes mom..." mingi uttered hesitantly.
"oh i see! we'll talk about this later, ok?" mingi nodded and then saw how his mother's gaze turned to yunho. "have you had breakfast yet?"
yunho looked at mingi as if he needed his permission to answer this question but mingi quickly nodded for him to answer. "no ma'am, i haven't"
"you're well educated i see, join us for breakfast! we brought some dishes from japan that we've been dying to try! i'll see you both downstairs in 5!"
mingi's mom exited the room, and both boys let out a breath they didn't know they were holding. they exchanged glances once again and mingi took yunho's shoulders trying to reassure him everything was going to be okay.
"let's go! they're not as scary as they look, i promise."
yunho felt slightly better when and they both headed downstairs to the kitchen.
the kitchen was filled with laughter, mingi's dad and mom playing with each other, making mingi cringe at the sight. as soon as they entered, their gazes were directed to the two boys. "that's him?" mingi's dad whispered to his wife and she nodded subtly.
"hi yunho! mingi has told us sooo much about you. it's nice to finally meet you!"
it seemed as if everyone had agreed to humíllate mingi in front of his crush but yunho didn't seem to mind, instead a light blush appeared on his face and he shook hands with mingi's dad. they started eating at the cozy breakfast nook that was next to the kitchen. out of the whole house, this seemed to be the most comfortable and 'normal' room. mingi's parents were talking about their trip and yunho listened carefully, he was so amazed with all of the places the song family had visited. one thing that surprised the older the most was that they were incredibly humble but he was glad, after all they would become his in-laws.
"so yunho" the taller looked up at mingi's father immediately. "what are you studying at yonsei?"
yunho's faced was painted with a genuine smile, he loved talking about his career. "i'll be majoring in business, i've always been more on the creative side, so i'm doing marketing as well."
mingi didn't even know this about the other. the response to his father's question only made him admire yunho more. he was so passionate and smart that he wondered if his bright future would be shared with him.
"oh wow, that's impressive! have you ever been interested in real estate at all?"
mingi knew where this was going. his father had done the same to him when he was choosing his college major. he wanted him to inherit his business but since mingi had chosen music instead, he was now trying to influence yunho.
"i thought about it sir, my dad has a small real estate firm and he wanted me to help him but i wanted to do something different"
"look like you and mingi are the same" three of them laughed leaving yunho a little bit confused. "don't listen to my dad, he tried to get me into real estate too but i refused" mingi chuckled.
"if you changed your mind, i'll be here! oh and if we ever get a chance, i'd like to meet your father, we can start planning the wedding" mingi's father joked liberally as his wife shushed him and hit him slightly on the shoulder.
both boys started blushing. as hard as they've tried to hide it, mingi's parents had already figured them out. it didn't take too long to realize they really liked each other.
"i'm just joking guys but i do hope you can visit again" yunho bowed, thanking him for being so good to him. they finished having breakfast and both boys ran upstairs to change and wash up.
"let me take you home"
"no it's okay! you've done so much already"
"exactly, so what's a little more?" mingi then held the taller's hand pulling him in and giving him a small peck on the lips.
"mingi! your parents are here!" yunho said rather loudly but he couldn't deny he liked the kiss.
"oh they already know yuyu, it's okay"
they shared a hug and then headed downstairs where mingi's parents were waiting for him at the front door.
"be safe ok? mingi don't drive to fast"
"of course not mom"
they said goodbye and got in the car. the atmosphere was tense but not in a bad way. mingi slowly interlaced his fingers with yunho's as the older squeezed his hand softly giving the okay.
they got to yunho's house and the older didn't want to leave.
"give me your phone number before you get off. i want to talk to you later"
they exchanged phone number and yunho finally got out of the car. he waved a small goodbye to yunho as he got inside his house. his parents were out of town because they were visiting his grandparents, thankfully they weren't going to bombard him with questions. he went to his room and tried to get some more sleep but at that moment he got a notification.minki♡
i miss you already :(
