It was one of those nights that Talia's brain wouldn't shut off as different thoughts raced through her head. She couldn't sleep. The blonde lay beside Alex, his arms wrapped around her middle, holding her close to his bare chest. Some would think it was suffocating, but to Talia, it made her feel safe.
She felt like no one could hurt her when she was cuddled into Alex, she liked that. What she didn't like were all the memories of her mother swarming through her brain at a hundred miles per hour.
She played with the collar of Alex's shirt, bringing it up to her nose to inhale his expensive, warm scent, every worry she ever had washed away being replaced with a sense of peace. She had convinced him to let her sleep in one of his shirts tonight and her goal was to sneak one home.
Talia lightly touches Alex's arm and looks up at him to see if she has disrupted him. He was still sound asleep so she slowly and quietly moved from his warm embrace.
Goosebumps rise on her skin as her bare feet touch the wooden floor, and she quietly walks to Owen's drawer, going into their special box and pulling a joint from it. There was one left that Talia decided would be Owen's who was again, not in the room
She grabs the lighter and moves over to the window; the blonde opens it, and its creeks, causing her to wince. The woman didn't want to wake Alex just cause she wanted a smoke.
She turns to see him still asleep and lets out a silent breath of relief as she sits on the windowsill and lights the joint taking a puff.
Alex stirs in his sleep and reaches for Talia, frowning when he feels a warm spot instead of her soft skin. "Lia," he calls out groggily as he sits up rubbing the tiredness from his eyes.
Talia turns to him and smiles softly. "Here," she hums softly; he turns to where her voice is and feels his body physically relax as his eyes fall on her. "What are you doing up?" He hums, laying back down, his eyes trained on her.
Talia looks out at the moon as she takes a drag from her joint and shrugs. "Just thinking, I'm fine," she responds.
Alex falls silent debating if he should question her further or not. Talia was a very hard person to try to get to open up; if you asked the wrong thing, she would shut down. He had learned this about the blonde. But his curiosity got the best of him. "Is it about your mom?" He asks carefully.
Talia freezes before nodding her head; Alex sighs and gets up, walking towards her. She turns to him and lets him pick her up, the joint between the fingers of her left hand as she uses her right to hold onto his shoulder. "What are you doing?" She questions as he carries her to the bed, sitting back down with her on his lap, his backside to the headboard as he makes a circular motion on her thighs with the pads of his thumbs.

"Talk to me," He tells her with a soft voice; even in the dark, he could see her big, deep eyes staring into his.
"What do you want to know?" She questions putting the joint out and setting it down as she plays with the hem of the T-shirt she wore.
"Anything you're willing to tell me," Alex explains "I want to help you, but I don't want to make you upset or uncomfortable...so lets do this. I ask a question and you can answer it, or if you don't want to just say "cherry"," the brunette suggests causing Talia to snicker.
