Eight.

I told Olivia I had to go out of town for a case and she was not happy, I couldn't care less, I was going to go with her on a trip for a week she needs to deal with this. I packed a bag while she sat on the bed. "When will you be back?" "I don't know, as soon as I came back I will be going to the office first so around dinner time." I say and she nods. I was not going to work tomorrow, I took a day off, I was going to spend the whole day with Ava, but Olivia did not need to know that. "That girl from last night Ava, where did you meet her?" she ask and I look at her annoyed, we talked about this last night. "I told you already on the guy's trip 7 months ago, and the most I had to do with her was just a hallo." I say walking to the bathroom to get my toothbrush. "Her friend seems to know you." she say as I walk out and I was getting pissed off. "I told you last night, her friend is dating Adam so I have seen her around the office a few times, why is it bothering you so much?" I ask zipping my bag and look at her.

"I don't know, she was looking at you like she knows you." she say standing up and I sigh, walking to her pulling her to me. "I don't know her, I know of her but I don't know her." I say and she smile kissing my lips. "I'm going to Miss You." she say and I just hug her, I did not say anything because I am not going to miss her, I will be with Ava. "Lily are you ready daddy is taking you to school." she say walking out the door and I pick up my bag, I drove Lily to school and then went to my office. I was busy the whole day trying to catch up for my day I took off. The day was busy and I was sitting in a meeting with the partners when I got a text.

Ava: Just want to make sure what time you will be here, I want to have dinner ready

I smiled at that she loved to cook so she will always cook for me.

Me: Around six, almost done with my last meeting of the day.

Ava: Good can't wait, see you later.

The meeting was finally over and I walked to my office to retrieve my things. "Michael, can I have a word with you real quickly?" John say and I nod showing him to sit down, I sit down behind my desk, I just want to leave and be with Ava. "I see you want to take leave next week?" he ask and I nod. "Olivia wants to have a family trip." I say and he nods. "Okay, well, because the week after that will be busy." he say and I frown. "Why, is there a big case?" I ask and he nods. "We can discuss it when you come back, but yeah it will be all hands on deck." he say standing up and I nod. "Have a good day off tomorrow." he say leaving my office and I sigh standing up, I can finally go see Ava. I drove to her apartment and I walked to the door with my bag. I knock and then she answers, she looked breath taking.

"Hi, you look nice." I say kissing her and she smile. "Thank you" she say as we walk to the kitchen. She gave me a beer and pour herself some wine, she know I prefer beer over wine and I love that she have beer just for me. "How was your day?" she ask stirring something and I smile. "Busy, because I had to catch up on things as I am not going to be in the office tomorrow." I say and she look up, "Are you going to be in court tomorrow?" she ask confuse and I shake my head. "I am going to be here, spending the day with you." I say and I see the happiness on her face. "Really, the whole day?" she ask and I nod she jump up and down walking to me and she kiss me. "I am so happy right now." she say and I smile, kissing her again. "That's all I want is for you to be happy." I say and she nods. She walk back to the food and she dishes up for us, we sat down and started eating. "The food was great, thank you." I say as she stood up to put the dishes away.

"Your welcome." she say walking to me coming to sit on my lap. "Seeing as I have you the whole night how about we watch a movie?" she ask and I smile, "Let's do it." I say kissing her and she stood up. She went upstairs to go put something more comfortable on and I put on the TV, I waited for her on the sofa and she came back with very sexy PJ's. "Do you want to watch a movie or kill me?" I ask her and she look confuse sitting next to me. "I don't understand?" "How am I supposed to concentrate on a movie if you look like that?" I say and she laugh. "All in good time" she say kissing me and grabbed the remote. She put on a movie throwing her legs over my lap and I smile, it feels normal we feel like a couple, normally we would be fucking right now and I would be leaving, I wish we could be like this always, but I know my future is on the line with the firm and with my family if this ever gets out.

"What are you thinking?" she ask and I look at her. "Nothing just wish we can be like this always." I say and she nods not saying anything. I turn to her so that I can look at her rubbing her leg. "Can I ask you something?" I ask and she frown nodding. "Why don't you ask me to leave Olivia?" she looks surprise and then she looked down. "You need to make that decision on your own, I want you to choose me because you want to not because I asked you." she say and I nod. The thing is I would choose her over and over again, but I can't I know that and I know this peace we have cannot last long, sooner or later I will have to make a decision and I don't know if losing everything for her would be worth it and I know loosing her will kill me. "Can I ask you something?" she say and I nod looking at her. "Why me. You have a beautiful wife and a beautiful daughter, why be with me as well?" I frown she never asked this before and I was surprised.

"The first time I saw you I knew there was something special about you, you have this light to you and me and Olivia are not in a good place and I was in darkness, your light was like a breath of fresh air, and every moment I share with you feels like I am alive, you make me feel alive." I say looking at her beautiful face. She smile at that and then moved closer to sit on my lap, she kissed me her hands in my hair and I smile in the kiss. "I cannot imagine my life without you." she say and I smile, knowing I need to tell her she should, she should move on, forget about me and find someone that can be there for her always, but I don't too selfish for it.
