Aemond was eager to take down houses and lands that supported Rhaenyra including the masseys realm. Lord massey on rhaenyras council. Aemond smiled as he burned their men to smoke and ash.

His mother was waiting for him when he returned.

"Hello."

"Aemond." She answered coldly. He kissed her cheek as she passed, she stared back at him.

"Mummy!" Aeron whined. "Pick me up! Pick me up!" Avalon scooped up little Aeron marching off, she didnt recognize her son anymore.

"You okay?" Davina questioned

"What happened to my son?" Avalon rasped.

"Yeah boys start off cute and little then they turn into men that dont listen to their mothers. Its annoying."

"And alicent?"

"Oh trouble in queer paradise?" Davina pondered.

"Seems so."

"Whats going on? Missing the cock that holds you two together-" avalon gave her a deadly glare. "Sorry sorry. Missing lover boy?"

"Yes. I worry about him. Aemond sent him away because of his feelings for me no doubt and alicent is hiding into her self. Im losing them both."

"I was happier before I was queen." Helaena admitted staring down into the cup.

"What would you think about leaving this place?" Alicent pondered.

"Where would I go?" Helaena countered as the door opened.

"The prince regent, Your Grace."

"Helaena. Here you are. Alicent." Aemond said absentmindedly, helaena put her cup aside.

"I was just, just going to bed."

"The crown has need of your service."

"Now?" Alicent countered.

"The Pretender has raised new riders against us, and we must answer in kind." Aemond remarked. "I need you to fly with Dreamfyre to battle."

"Aemond." Alicent demanded rising up. Avalon would never agree to this.

"I do not wish to fight." Helaena corrected.

"Our wishes must take second place now to what is necessary to preserve the throne."

"I won't burn anyone." Helaena corrected

"It isn't a question."

"Then he kissed me. As the snow flakes touched our skin. It was super romantic." Vaera remarked. Alyssa smiled up at her big sister. Everything she wanted to be.

"That does sound romantic." Alyssa agreed

"You have a crush?" Vaera pondered

"Oh no." Alyssa blushed. "Im too young for that."

"Nonsense. When i first met cregan i fell in love." Vaera countered. "Hey mum whats with the long face?"

"Just tired of arguing with your brother." Avalon offered as she headed down the hall with davina.

"And you need to get laid-"

"Its not what i need." Avalon corrected

"What? Tom is a great stress reliever not that im offering my husband to you."  Davina clarified.

"You wish to rule the Seven Kingdoms, but you rain ruin and death upon its smallfolk when you've been insulted because it makes you feel strong and now you seek to corrupt your sister, of all our line, the gentlest and most deserving of your protection." Alicent demanded.

"And who will protect her if she cannot protect herself?" Aemond countered.

"And who will she be if her mind is broken?!" Alicent countered.

"'Tis no longer our rule that is threatened, our very lives. Would you not have us prevail?"

"Not like this." Alicent agreed. "Not like this!"

"My queen." larys bowed his head to her. "i'm surprised to find you here."

"Tending to my daughter?" Avalon countered kissing little Alice's head. "Aeron is needy but alice needs me." She added. "Someone has to clean those dirty nappies." Alice giggled up at her as avalon pat her little bum.

"In kings landing, i meant." Larys counterer. "I got word that the queen had left... to dragonstone."

"What?" Avalon rasped. "Alicent," She whispered larys nodded already knowing what alicent was doing. "She is giving Aegon a death sentence going there." Avalon rasped, shaking her head. "She is going to surrender and...." Avalon's heard hurt. "We are all doomed."

"Not necessarily."

"Do not think I have no shame in me, ser." Criston added. "Desire for women has brought me grief after grief."

"Then resist it." Gwayne suggested, criston chuckled softly

"Oh, would that it were so simple."

" Your brothers in the Kingsguard find a way." Gwayne countered. But he too found avalon too tempting.

"Do they? Mm, perhaps they do. Or perhaps all men are corrupt... and true honor is a mist that melts in the morning." Criston whispered.

"That is a bleak philosophy."

"I have no philosophy." Criston countered grabbing his sword. "Or rather, my philosophy was this. To protect the righteous and dispense justice on the rest. But now... You saw what I saw." he stabbed his blade into the earth. He missed avalon he wanted to go home. He couldnt until this war ended and he feared this war would lead to his death. Maybe it was for the best. "The dragons dance, and men are like dust under their feet. And all our fine thoughts, all our... endeavors are as nothing. We march now toward our annihilation." he realized. "To die will be a kind of relief. Don't you think?"

"Come." the door opened. "Begging your pardon, Your Grace." Rhaenyra got up from bed and grabbed her dressing robe.

"I had to see you." Alicent remarked.

"Who knows?" Rhaenyra countered.

"None save my protector." Alicent countered. "He laid down his sword at your gate." she added, the guards headed off at rhaenyra dismissal. "I've been, I think... mistaken." she admitted.

"In what?"

"I was raised to believe there was an order to things, that there was security in following the paths laid out for us." Alicent admitted. "I resented you, I think, for... caring so little for any of it, for knowing what you wanted. I did not know what I wanted. I knew only what was expected of me." Alicent added.

"Why have you come here?"

"Because I lost my way."

"Ser cole. A message from the capital." Criston took the scroll opening it up.

~ if you can make it back in time I'm leaving. I cannot stand this war. I fear the worst of my queen counterpart  she has left me for dragonstone. I think she means to surrender. Aemond will never surrender. Im taking my children and leaving. I dont need to be queen. I hope you will join me in leaving this place behind.
Yours Avalon ~
