"Jennie's fate" he mumbled to himself

"Jennie's fate" he mumbled to himself. His mind filled with flashbacks of her crying almost every time he met her and all that started ever since Jungkook had arrived in Nereida, starting with the loss of Chaeyoung. Jisoo eyed him, wondering what he was thinking about. How close was he to the princess? she thought. To Taehyung, she had always been a kind person, different from other royalties. She can be childish and a little problematic at times but she was always friendly and considerate of others. And it was unsettling for him to imagine an innocent person suffering that much.

"Can it be changed?" He asked. "No.It can't be changed" She said. He knew she was lying right now. If it couldn't be changed then Yeji would've neither tried to save the princess nor ask for his help. There definitely was a way to change it that Jisoo didn't want to execute. An unknown expression was on his face which made her nervous. He looked at her straight into her eyes and asked "Yeji-ssi said you are her daughter...why doesn't anyone know about you then?" Jisoo's expression changed and Taehyung swore he saw her heart breakthrough her eyes. She seemed very intimidating all the time until now.

She let out a painful chuckle as if he had hit the right nerve. "That's a very personal question, isn't it?" she said. He bit his tongue thinking of something before speaking up "Now that I think about it, you only told me about your so-called kind and Jungkook's plan. What about yours?" She gave him a confused look. "What about your plan? If your mother pulled a stunt there and you knew about it, doesn't that mean you have a plan you're working on?" he clarified. Her eyes wandered around the room, trying to dodge the question. She didn't expect him to be so observant. "answer me" He added. It sounded more demanding than inquiring.

Her silence gave him the answer he already knew. He sighed. "I can help you with that plan" he said. She finally looked into his eyes. "Why do you want to save her?" she asked. He wondered that too. Why did he want to save her? He had promised Yeji to save Jennie from Jungkook but he could always break that. Deep down he himself didn't want to see her suffer either. And if Jungkook was the cause of Chaeyoung's death then Taehyung was adamant to end him even if he didn't possess any powers. No power in the world was stronger than hatred and vengeance.

But none of these reasons were enough to justify his concern for the princess. So he convinced himself by stating that using her would be the only way to get to Jungkook. "The princess is a really great soul. Not just me but everyone in Nereida would hate to see her suffer" he said. Jisoo knew nothing about Jennie so she believed him.

"There's one detail that you missed in my explanation" she said, changing the topic. And once again, she looked intimidating. "We are stuck in this timeless cycle of history. When I told you.." she looked around while his eyes also followed her movements. "...that this too is Nereida, what did you think I meant?" she asked. "That Nereida would end up like this" he replied, nonchalant, pointing everything around them. "You missed the point again" she sighed. "Aren't you curious about the fact that this has already happened then why is the human race still thriving?" She asked. His eyes widened once he realised her point. He was shocked to the core. How could he miss that detail? "Y-you mean.." he gulped down his saliva. "His plan never worked" she completed his sentence.
