It's been a couple of weeks since jannah came back to Nigeria, and it's been completely stress and drama free! The vacation was really refreshing. All the negative energy inside her was in check.
She hasn't resumed work yet, but she will in a day or two.

Today, she decided to do nothing. Just stay home and laze around, and she has been doing just that. She was having her late lunch when she received a call. She thought it was Jafar or Tanya, but to her surprise, it wasn't any of them. It was the house maid from home. Her brows drew in, indicating her confusion, but she picked the call nonetheless.

"Hello?" Jannah said.

"Good afternoon, Miss Firdaus." She replied, with her voice shaking a bit.

"Afternoon, what is the matter?"

"Ma'am... it's, it's your mother.." Immediately, jannah heard that she sprang to her feet. She was already getting tense.

"What happened to her? Speak clearly!"

"Ma'am she slipped on the staircase, and she's bleeding profusely. We're on our way to the national hospital." Jannah lost balance and collapsed on the couch when she heard that. But she had to regain composure.

"I'll meet you there." She hung up immediately after. She went to her room and took the first veil she saw, took her keys and her phone, and all but ran out of the apartment. She hit the road seconds after, and she drove so fast, like faster than she normally does. She was worried sick about her mom. That woman is her lifeline. She can't think of life without her. She was almost at the hospital when a call came through. She thought I was from binta, so she picked up almost immediately. "Have you reached the hospital?" She asked.

"Hospital? Why would I be going to the hospital, J? What are you talking about?" Jafar replied.

"I thought you were someone else." She said lowly, trying to focus on th road, the rate at which she's moving. She might crash if she loses focus.

"Jannah, what's wrong?" Jafar noticed something off in her voice.

"It's mum... she fell from the staircase, I'm on my way to the hospital."

"Inalillahi, which hospital? I'll be right there."

"It's national hospital, I'll see you soon then." She hung up and put her focus back on the road.

Over the past few days, Jafar and her mom have gotten pretty close. The three of them are always together, it's either they're having lunch at some fancy restaurant, playing games at jannah's apartment, or even going to the cinema. It's now like he's her birth son, and now hearing she's in a hospital bed is bringing back some bad memories for jafar. He really hopes she'll be okay.

A few minutes later, jannah arrived at he hospital. "Good afternoon. Can I please know where Hauwa Abdullah is?" She said to the receptionist.

"She's in the ER 2, take a right, first door to the left." The receptionist replied. She thanked her and ran there.

By the door, she met Binta and the driver. Her father was nowhere in sight. It's okay when he acts like that towards her, but she thought he cared about her mother even though it was just a little.

That man has no heart.

"How is she?" I asked Binta.

"They haven't said anything yet, Ma'am." She looked very distraught. There were blood stains all over her uniform. It made jannah nauseous.

"How did it happen?"

"I really don't know Ma'am, I was in the kitchen washing the dishes when I heard her scream. When I got there, she was at the bottom of the staircase in a pool of blood, and she was barely conscious." She explained.
