"I'm sorry, your mom is no more." The doctor dropped the bombshell.

Jannah collapsed to the ground, her voice trembling barely above a whisper, "I told you not to say it." Tears streamed down her face, a reflection of the pain she felt inside.

The voices in her surroundings became distant and muffled, and her sight was slowly blurring. Her chest suddenly felt constricted, and it was hard to breathe. Her head felt heavy, and keeping her eyes open felt like a chore, so she simply gave in to the darkness that lulled her.

Maybe then, just maybe, I'll have some peace. That was the last thought that brushed through her mind before she embraced the darkness.

THE NEXT DAY.

Overwhelmed by the piercing brightness of the room, she shut her eyes tightly, instinctively shielding herself from the harsh glare. After a moment's hesitation, she summoned enough willpower to slowly open her eyes again, allowing them to gradually adjust to the brightness around her. As her gaze wandered across the room, she took in the stark white walls and the sterile smell that filled the air, a clear indication that she was in a hospital room. The faint beeping of machinery accompanied her observations, creating a rhythmic backdrop to her fluttering thoughts as she took in her unfamiliar surroundings. She spotted a worried-looking Jafar sitting in the far end of the room. He seemed to have felt her gaze on him because he raised his head and met her gaze.
