*Boom!* *Boom!*Startled by the thunder and my nightmare I wake up, clutching my chest as if trying to calm my racing heart.
It's ok, it's ok, it was just a bad dream, it's ok. I mentally chant to myself. I go to my kitchen, grab a bottle of water and quickly drink it all.
Once I'm done, I grab my sketch pad and start.. sketching.
I don't know how long I sketched when I heard a knock at my door, but I knew it was too long if I could sketch almost every scene from my nightmare.. including the last part.
More banging on my door snaps me out of my thoughts, and I yell "Coming!" And quickly run over to the door to open it and see him there.
"Oh my gosh! What the fuck is wrong with you!? Don't you know a tornado could've come and you were being your stupid, overprotective self to come over here!? It would've been my damn fault if you died!" I almost sob the last part, and quickly hug a soaking wet Luis, who has the most broken expression on his face after I was done yelling at him.
"Shh, it's ok Ray, I'm not going anywhere." Luis coos, trying to calm me down.
Once I'm calm I ask him what he's doing here.
"I came to make sure your alright.. I remembered the last time that there was a thunderstorm, you didn't do very well so I had to make sure my best friend is alright." He gives me a small smile.
"I'm fine, I woke up probably a few hours ago and started sketching." I admit to him.
"How's it going with Alex?"
I smile, "it's great, but he keeps telling me I should go to therapy.. I don't want to go there Luis, the people ask too many questions and make you lie down and look at the ceiling." I say, wide-eyed. "Anyway he's currently on a business trip."
Luis laughs, "I know, remember we're business partners." Right.
I roll my eyes. "Come on, you gotta get dried up." I shove him towards the spare room where he has extra clothes just in case.
While Luis went to go get changed, I went into the kitchen and got my coffee maker out and started brewing the coffee. It was almost done when there was another knock on the door. I look at the clock: 5:05 A.M. How many people are awake at this fucking hour? Well I shouldn't be complaining, I mean I was awake-
Another knock gets me out of my thoughts, "Coming!" I yell. I go to the door and open it to see him there.
My heart starts beating faster and my palms get a bit sweaty seeing his blonde hair and ice blue eyes piercing my own hazel eyes. "Raven."
"When did you come back?" I question him, and move aside to let him through. How many people go out in the rain this early in the morning to go to someone's house!?
"Raven!" Someone yells and I look up from my thoughts, and smile weakly in apology.
"Sorry Alex, could you repeat that?" I ask.
"I said I just got back. Are you ok?"
"Just peachy." I said with the best smile I have. He looks me over once more, than as if he forgot he was soaking wet he pulls me towards him and gives me a hug.
He kisses my forehead, then my cheeks, then gives me a peck on the lips before he rests his forehead against mine. "You haven't been the same babe. I've seen your sketches they're not healthy either and I know you're having bad dreams. Why can't you at least go to one therapy lesson?" Alex questions me gently, looking at me with his ice blue eyes that seem to be swirling with emotion.
"I'm scared." I state, and pull away from his embrace reluctantly.
"I'll be there for you Raven, I'll be there for you every step of the way. I'll always be here for you." I look into his eyes, and just see sincerity and love shining in them, of course there are other emotions, but those are the main ones.
"Same here Ray." Luis butts into our conversation, making both our heads snap toward Luis.
"I know you'll be here for me, but I just-it's hard for me. I know you and Luis will both be here for me, but-just give me time."
"I've given you two weeks since-look Raven, I'll give you until Friday. Whether your ready or not I'm taking you to therapy, because I can't live without you, and I definitely don't want you to do anything bad to yourself." Alex's eyes flicker to Luis then back to me. "I love your Raven, but just do this simple thing for me, I want the girl I fell in love with back, I want you back." With one last pleading and broken look at me, he turns around and walk toward the door and leaves.
I just noticed I was crying when I felt wetness on my cheeks, my legs start to give out and I slowly sink to the floor. Luis rubs my back, and we just stay like that for awhile, no words spoken.

The next day I get my laptop out and search, 'Therapy places near me.' I nearly passes out by how many were close to me.
I looked through one of the therapists profiles and looked at their description (A/N it is a real description from a real therapist!):
I am an interactive, cognitive behavioral, strength-focused therapist. My goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is fulfilling. While we cannot change difficult experiences of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns and negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I will ask you to actively participate in therapy and practice methods that you are learning. I will also ask your to get your feedback at the end of each session to make sure that our work together is effective for you. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families suffering with symptoms of mental illnesses and/or substance abuse. Treatment specializations include therapy for depression, grief, anxiety, abuse, work and career issues, relationship issues, parenting, stress, anger, shame, guilt, and addiction & recovery.
Her name is Kyle Bryan, and I decide she might be good enough, and I give her a call. "Hello?" A soft voice was heard.
I clear my throat, more than a few times, "umm, yeah, hi.. My name is Raven Flores and," I take a deep breath. "I need help." Tears slowly start pooling at my eyes, my heart breaking at what I just admitted out loud. My mom would be so disappointed.
The therapist gives me a schedule of when to go and blah, blah, blah. I've made a decision, I'll stick to it but along with that decision comes another thing I gotta do. It's 100% necessary especially from what he told me yesterday. What's braking me from the inside.
"...because I can't live without you, and I definitely don't want you to do anything bad to yourself...I love you Raven, but just do this simple thing for me, I want the girl I fell in love with back, I want you back."
The pained expression on his face, it makes me want to get better mentally for him. I will, but first I need to stay away from him, I need to leave him, just until I'm mentally better.
I'm leaving tonight.
